Chapter 1: The gift

It's been almost a year and a half since I took back the world. I've taken up residence in Master Serizawa's house, in San Francisco. It's late December. There he promised to train me. And I haven't stopped having nightmares of Space Godzilla. Every time I shut my eyes I see him standing over a scorched earth. I realize that he shot himself up into Space, but that doesn't stop my subconscious from warning me of what will probably come. Last night was particularly special. I dreamt that I was facing Space Godzilla. I looked at him from the top of the Sears tower. His back was towards it, everything on fire. As i was about to shift, I woke up. I looked around my bed room. Everything was in place. Except for a long rectangular box. I sit down at the foot of my bed and open it. I find two sleek katanas. The blades were black. The hilts are black but the lacings on it are red. I also find a note in the box. Meet me in the backyard. Training starts today. I guess Master Serizawa wants me to be prepared because this sping break I am going to meet the other kaiju shifters. I go down stairs and find Master Serizawa sanding perfectly still. With one Katana faced down at his side. I walked outside. "Raise your blade," he said. "You won't need to other. For now we will practice single blade combat." I raised my blade in front of me. Then I swung at his left. He immediately blocked it and swiped at right. I brought my sword back with both hands to block. Then i swung at his head which he only blocked with one hand. I started to fuel my god-like strength into my arms as out blades locked. He almost fell down on one knee. At that moment he moved faster than any other person in their late 60's that I have ever seen. He jumped to my side and jammed his blade into the ground. Then he flicked it up causing dirt to go into my eyes. Once i put my hand over my eye, he hit the back of my head with the hilt of his sword. I fell to the ground. "You're better than I thought you would be for a first try. Next time focus on you're surroundings, Logan." He said.
