I ran straight home in the rain. How could I let that happen? If Brain and Hunter both realize their full potential, there wouldn't be a human race anymore. I start to think to myself. What if he was right? About me not being any kind of a leader to them. I try not to dwell on but I can't due to a knot forming in my chest. Stress is starting to take over because I am fearing the worst. Just as I'm about to forget about everything, I get a call from Chloe. I'm hesitant to answer. I quickly grab my phone and wait for her to tell me off. "Hello?" I ask. "Logan...please tell me what that was." "Meet me at the shore and I will show you." I say quickly and hang up. I'm being consumed with stress but I know what I have to do. I wait at the beach for about an hour when I see Chloe approach me slowly. "I promise I wont hurt you." I say as I reach my hand out to her. No one is at the beach because of the storm going on. She doesn't take my hand back. "You don't need to be afraid. I can control it." I assure her. She grabs my hand. I smile inside because I know that I have her trust. I put her in front of me and I have my arm over her side as she holds onto it. I raise my other hand in front of her and make a fist. Almost immediately a green flame forms on it. She looks at it in awe. "This is only the surface," I say in her ear. I have no plan on transforming for her but I will show her everything else. I back away and swirl my arms out in front of me in a circular motion parallel to the ground. A mini tornado of sand forms and moves in the directions I tell it to. She goes for her phone to film this. I look at her and she knows not to. "Be right back," I say. I run straight into the water without stopping. I get about a mile out and find a great white shark. I hold it still until it becomes. Then I casually drag it out of the water to show her. "Is it dead?" She asks. "Course not," I reply. I grab the shark as it slowly comes to and I throw it far into the ocean. The rain starts to pour harder and harder. Chloe puts her arms around herself to keep her warm. I embrace her and slowly raise my temperature so she'll get warmer. The sound of the rain hitting the ground in the water suddenly stops. She pulls her head away from me and looks around. The rain dropplets have stopped in mid air. "Are you doing this?" She asks in amazement. I nod my head and send the rain back into the sky. Then I part the clouds and the sun comes out. She kisses me and says "I don't care that you have these powers. I love you for you." I hugged her as tight as I could and let a single tear drop. After all this loss. The start of a betrayal, and basically no gratitude from the people around me, I finally had someone who wouldn't leave my side.
