When Will saw his father coming in with his brother, he had a feeling this would lead into a fight. Without a doubt. Their father was a stubborn old man and just like their father he and Jay were just as stubborn if not worse.

"Dad?" Will finally spoke.

Pat Halstead rolled his eyes seeing his oldest son. "Well if it isn't my oldest boy, what the hell are you doing here?"

"I work here, what are you doing here?"

"Old geizer thought it would be smart to get into a bar fight and get knocked on his ass" Jay told his brother.

"That asshole started it," Pat grumbled.

"I bet he did dad, now stop so you can get checked out" Will told his father.

Will and Jay loved their father but Pat had a hard time showing it, at times it was like dealing with an adult child. The older Halstead was wheeled to a room, Will knew he couldn't treat his father so he had one of the other doctors do it. Ethan Choi had come in to look over the oldest Halstead man.

"What the hell were you doing at a bar anyway? You're not supposed to be drinking with the way your heart is"

"Last time I checked, I'm still a grown ass adult and I can do what I want"

"Still such a stubborn old bastard," Jay spoke.

"Takes one to know one and I know the both of you"

Will excused himself before he had lost his temper, even after all these years their father was still a stubborn old bastard who did nothing but put them down. Never accepted their life choices. And it was possibly also clear Pat may never accept Luna. Will, will be damned if his father put his daughter down the way he put him and Jay down.

The redhead Halstead was always terrified of becoming a father because he was scared he'd turn out like his own father. Pat had always beat down and destroyed every ounce of happiness and self esteem his sons had. Will never wanted to do that with his daughter. He couldn't see how someone could hurt someone so innocent like that, who had the stomach to tear down and hurt an innocent child?

If it was one thing Will knew, he would never put his daughter through the cold, harsh, abuse his father had put him and his brother through. The redhead doctor hadn't known his brother had followed him, Jay had looked at his brother.

"You ok man?" Jay asked.

"He'll never change. Will he?" Will replied.

"Who knows"

"Do you think.. Never mind"

"You're nothing like him. Nothing. The difference between you and him. You love Luna and no matter what happens you'll always love her and never put her down. You don't have an ounce of hate in you, you don't have so much as a bad bone in your body"

"If I do even one thing remotely like him, punch me"

"I'm not going to hit you"

"Don't ever let me turn out like him"

"That'll never happen"

"I hope you're right Jay"

"I may not be right about a lot of things but this is one thing I'm certain about"

Will had looked into the room where his father resided and just hoped he wouldn't turn out like him. He would never put his daughter down the way Pat had put them down. The one difficult decision he faced. Would he ever let his little girl around his father?
