Untitled Part 7

Will was on duty at the hospital when the paramedics brought in his father and Luna. His father was unconscious as the medics were spouting off information to Ethan and then Luna had been screaming and crying in pain clutching her now broken arm. His face and heart sank.

"Luna!" Will called, rushing over to his daughter, he looked at the medics. "What happened?"

"She fell off the jungle gym at the park, landing on her arm. She may have a possible broken arm" One of the medics explained.

Maggie had come over to Will. "Will, you know the rules. You can't treat family. Connor's working on your father, I've got Ethan to come and look at Luna. You can stay with her, I'll have your patients reassigned"

"Thanks, Maggie," Will says to her gratefully.

Will went to the room where Ethan was treating his daughter, Ethan had done an X-ray in the room and it showed that Luna had broken her arm. Will had held his daughter's hand.

"What's it looking like Ethan?" Will asked.

"Looks like a break, doesn't seem major. She'll need a cast and be as good as new"

Will nodded. "Thank you, Ethan. I appreciate you helping"

"I'll have her transferred upstairs for a splint, she'll wear it for a few days then we'll move to a cast until the arm heals"

"I appreciate it, man, thanks again"

"I'll leave you with Luna and come get you until we get something upstairs"

Ethan had left leaving Will alone with his daughter, Luna sniffed as Will lay next to her and she curled into her father's side. He had gently stroked her fiery red hair.

"Are you alright sweetheart?" Will asked his daughter gently.

"It hurts Daddy" Luna whimpered in pain.

"I know sweetheart, the medicine is just taking time to kick in. You're still young so we have to be careful with how much we give you. We don't want you to get sick"

The young girl just nodded. "Is Grandpa gonna be alright?"

"The doctor is looking at him now to see what happened. Luna, did you see what happened to Grandpa in the park? Did he look alright?"

"He looked like he was getting dizzy and walked funny, when I fell off the jungle gym he tried to come to get me but that's when he fell"

"Did he say anything to you?"

Luna shook her head. "No Daddy, not that I heard"

"Alright sweetheart, but Grandpa will be fine. The doctor is helping him"

Luna nodded. Will gently laid her on the bed and went out to call his brother.

"Jay, something happened, dad and Luna are both in the ED"

Meanwhile

Jay was at his desk finishing up some paperwork when his phone rang and he saw it was his brother calling.

"Will, what's up" Jay answered for his brother.

"Jay, something happened, dad and Luna are both in the ED" Will informed his brother.

Jay's heart just about stopped. "I'm on my way"

He shot up out of his chair and started rushing to Hank's office, Hank looked up to see his detective in a panicked rush.

"Jay, everything alright?" Hank asked.

"No, my father and niece were rushed to Chicago Med. I need to go" Jay told his his boss, his voice laced with worry and panic.

"Go, don't worry about your paperwork it'll be here when you get back. Your family comes first"

"Thank you Hank" Jay nodded and rushed out.

When Jay got outside at his car he flipped on the lights and sirens speeding through the streets and heading to the hospital. He had made it in record time to the hospital parking and ran in, as he was running in Luna was being taken upstairs to get a splint on her arm.

Will had gone to meet his brother before he had a panic attack if not worse, he put a gentle hand on Jay's shoulder.

"Breathe Jay, calm down. Luna's fine, she has a broken arm, she's going to get a splint put on, and Dad is still being treated" Will explained.

"What the hell happened?" Jay asked.

"It looks like Dad collapsed at the park while watching Luna, Luna had lost her balance on the jungle gym and fell breaking her arm"

"Is dad alright?"

"I don't know, Connor hasn't came and got me yet. Let's just let him work on Dad"

Jay let out a long breath trying to keep his cool. After what seems like eternity Connor had gone to the two brothers.

"Will, Jay, we should talk about your father.."
