Untitled Part 4

"Are you out of your mind?!"

"Must you yell? I already have a headache" Will rubbed his temples, trying to ignore the throbbing pain in his head. "And keep your voice down, I just got Luna to bed. You wake her up, you stay up with her"

"Dad was god awful to us and you want Luna to meet him? You've lost your mind"

"People do change Jay. Just because dad was awful to us doesn't necessarily mean he'll be that way to Luna. When he finds out he does have a granddaughter he could want to change for her"

"And if he doesn't?"

"Then I'll keep Luna away from him. But she deserves to know her family, all of them. Even dad. I wished she got the chance to know mom, mom would have loved her"

"Mom always wanted a girl but never had the chance" Jay's voice lowered.

"This could be dad's chance to redeem himself, Jay. Being a better father means I have to do what's right for Luna and if that means forgiving him and trying to have a relationship with him. I will"

Will tried to give his daughter a good family life, without her mother in her life that had been hard enough. Luna had Jay, Jay hadn't introduced his young niece to his team but they had known of her. The detective didn't want his young niece exposed to that yet if at all. His brother would kill him if Luna got hurt because of his job.

Most of the doctors and nurses at Med knew Luna and even met her. Luna called some of them uncle or aunt. Will wanted his daughter to know Jay's team but had been cautious of having her around that.

Jay sighed. "I just want you and Luna to be careful and safe while doing this"

"We will, if I sense anything wrong I'll get out"

He just nodded, he didn't like it but for his brother and niece he would accept it. The last thing they needed was another family fight.

The following day Will had brought his daughter to meet his father, he really hoped that his father would accept his daughter. Pat Halstead hadn't been too accepting of his sons choices in life. He felt they wasted life going to school after high school. He wanted them to go straight to work at the factory he worked at, but the boys had other plans for their lives. Jay enlisted in the Army and later went to the police academy, Will had gone off to New York to med school and became a doctor.

Will had arrived at his father's house, his old childhood house. Looking around the yard, memories came flooding to his head. Remembering how he and his brother chased each other around the yard for hours on end. The toys that once littered the yard had been rid of years ago.

"Daddy, whose house are we at?" Came Luna's small voice, breaking her father from his thoughts.

Smiling, he looked down at her. "This is my dad's house. This is where your uncle and I grew up"

"Do you think he'll like me?"

He smoothed her red hair back. "Let's go found out"

They went to the front door and Will knocked on the door. Pat opened the door to see his oldest son and a little girl.

"This is a surprise, what can I do for you son" Pat says to his son.

"I wanted to introduce you to someone. Dad, this is my daughter, Luna. Luna this is my dad, your grandfather, Pat"
