3:28pm"I can't believe you actually got me here bruh," Brandon slouched in the waiting room chair.
"You've been complaining since we got here," I whispered. "You don't have to fucking be here, but if you leave it just shows me how much you actually care about our relationship,"
After I came home from the club Friday, I wished I didn't. The entire weekend was full of homework and arguing with Brandon. It got to the point where we weren't even arguing about anything serious. We mainly argued over dumb things and I was tired.
I was actually happy to get up for my desk job at five in the morning just so I could get the hell away from Brandon. The main thing that we were arguing about though was this therapy session. Brandon was so against it, but I eventually convinced him to leave work early to come and he's been complaining ever since he got to the office.
"Amirah! So happy to see you again," Dr. Ellis came out of her office and we both stood up.
"Oh and I see Brandon joined us this time," she extended her hand out for him to shake.
"Let's go back here and get started you two," she led us back to her office.
I sat on one end of the couch while Brandon sat on the other. Dr. Ellis sat in her recliner like last time and just stared between the both of us before she actually said something.
"I can sense some tension between you two," she clicked her pen and wrote something down on her notepad.
"It's been a tough week," I spoke up since I knew Brandon wasn't going to.
"Did you do that homework?" She looked at me.
"I'm not gonna lie. We've been arguing to the point where I even forgot that you assigned us homework," I confessed.
"Hmm I see," she nodded.
I looked over at Brandon and saw that he was slouched at the opposite end of the couch with a blank expression on his face.
"I just want to start off by saying that in order for couples therapy to actually be effective, BOTH individuals have to be willing to put in the effort. Also, both of you guys have to be receptive to this process," she explained, but when she said it she looked more towards Brandon.
