Brooklyn
It was a rare time when Hank wasn't working or scanning through crime reports, the hazel eyed sergeant finally relaxing without worrying about what cases were more priority over others. The man having the chance to remain at home being cuddled up with his girlfriend without having to tone down the affections around the others at Intelligence. If anyone were to step foot in the Voight household they wouldn't particularly be surprised to see Brooklyn and the infamous Hank Voight being cuddled up to one another, but they would be a little bit more shell shocked on how relaxed and attentive the man was to the brunette haired girl. For Hank Voight looked at Brooklyn like she was his whole world.
A soft exhale sounded throughout the living room of the home which brought a smile upon my face, with a soft movement I glanced up from my cuddling position to see a peaceful look across Hank's face anytime he fell asleep. It wasn't often that I was the only one awake for the older man liked to be alert just in case something were to happen but the few times he has fallen asleep meant he felt safe enough to be in such a vulnerable state.
Finding myself laying my head back on his chest with a warming feeling wrapping around, I allowed myself to reflect on what has happened the last few months. Through all the pain and exhaustion I never felt more safe and loved then when I was with Hank, the hazel eyed sergeant becoming the most important thing in my life and someone I couldn't imagine to live without. I have fallen more in love with him with each second that passes and I know in my heart that this man was my everything. I wanted to be his wife, his partner, his other half for the rest of my life. Anytime I think about a life without him in it just brings a bought of sadness and excruciating pain that I can't even think about it much. I whole heartedly love this man with ever fiber of my being and if anything were to happen to him there might be a part of me that would cross a line I could never come back from.
Before I could go further into my thoughts a muscular arm wrapped around my waist pulling my closer into their warm embrace, a gentle kiss placed upon the crown of my head. Glancing upwards once more towards my other half, I noticed his eyes were still closed and his breathing was still even, the man not even stirring awake. Even subconsciously the man just wants to wants me to be in his protective hold, a sensation that would continue to make butterflies flutter around in my stomach and a blush to rise to my cheeks. Hank was my home and I knew I was his.
Allowing my eyes to flutter shut with my love's arm holding me, sleep started to overcome my senses as I listened to the sound of Hank's heart lull me to sleep. It was almost like a picturesque moment between the two of us, an image that not many would ever think that Hank Voight would ever do but a loving moment that Hank and I will forever cherish.
---
A calming aura surrounded the two of us as we walked around the local park, listening to the murmured conversations and dogs barking to fill the silence. Hank and I had entered the 21st that morning with the intention of setting up a new technological update to the system I put in but we were quickly ushered out with a scolding look from one Trudy Platt, the woman not wanting to see either of our faces for the next few days with that words "you are both running yourself ragged and need time off. ". Practically kicking us out of the precinct to actually be a normal couple for once without the stress of work cutting into our alone time.
Feeling Hank's hand interlace with mine and squeezing it to show his love, we continued our walk of peace. It truly wasn't often that we could have the day to ourselves and do something that most normal couples would do. From time to time I noticed Hank would gaze around to keep aware to what was going on around us but that was an instinct I wouldn't ever want to give up, it was the man's way of keeping me safe. Gently tugging me closer to him, I couldn't help the light laugh that fell past my lips when the hazel eyed sergeant spun me around before placing a small kiss to my lips.
