"I still don't understand why you had to dart me dude." Culter awake and at the moment, still in control of himself. Red was keeping a close eye on him and made him move to the living room where he couldn't get her grandma if he went wild again.
"For your own good, most hunters would have just shot you had they seen you in that state. You should be grateful I didn't." Stan glared at Culter and turned his gaze to the night sky outside, his expression shifted when he saw how big the moon was tonight.
"Alright, I don't think Vortex will come tonight but we should still be wary of potential attackers. Guys like him always have servants willing to do anything he demands." Stan walked to the kitchen and placed on the table was a briefcase, he opened it with curious eyes on him. He pulled out a bright silver stake and multiple silver bracelets and necklaces. He looked over at the two supernaturals staring at him and grinned at their concerned faces.
"Don't worry kids, I didn't pack anything to kill you." Stan winks and goes to check outside, leaving Culter and Red alone together. Red eyed him up and down just waiting for any sudden movements that could be taken as a play to get her grandma. She refused to allow that and kept her eyes a bright red to show Culter she wasn't fucking around with him. If he even dared attack, he was a dead man. A double dead man technically.
"You don't need to eye me like a hawk Red, I'm not going to try to hurt anyone." Culter attempted to reason with the young vampire, who was already thirsty again and getting cranky, she wasn't hearing any of Culter's words and she continued to glare at him while waiting for Stan's eventual return.
Red and Culter stood in the living room, exchanging looks and small talk for about half an hour before Stan came back inside to find the two in a stand-off. "Huh, is this a bad time?" He dropped his weapons on the kitchen table, Stan was calm during the obvious tension. He'd seen supernaturals fight before and it's never pretty, he wasn't sure exactly why these two were so cross at each other. But he figured he should put a pin in it before it got bad.
"Hey! Guys and gals, what the hells going on here. Red, why are your eyes glowing that much?" Stan's voice boomed throughout the room and a frustrated Red knew better than to ignore him, she slowly turned her head toward Stan and lowered the glow of her eyes back to a normal red hue. She didn't want Stan viewing her eyes as a challenge.
"Culter still hasn't eaten and my grandma is sleeping in the room over, I think it's obvious why I'm keeping my eye on him." Red quickly turned back to Culter, who put his hands up in protest. "She's being over protecting right now, I've already said I'm not gonna loose control again."
"You will." Stan responded coldly, he reached into his briefcase and Culter's eyes went wide. This was it he thought, Stan was going to pull out a gun and hit him between the eyes. What a way to go out, after surviving seventy eight years as a zombie. Some random hunter would be his end, in his friends house too just to add insult. Stan pulled out a small tinted bottle, Culter smelled something inside it that vaguely resembled brain.
"Take this, it's a brain substitute that some zombies use. It won't get rid of the hunger completely but it will keep you in control." Stan tossed the bottle across into the living room, Culter almost had to dive so it didn't drop to the floor. "As for you Red, I presume you still need blood and I don't have any, so you'll have to hunt. Your still weak and Vortex will likely be looking for you. I'm coming with."
Red almost collapsed when she heard that, a hunter accompanying her on a hunt was basically the most embarrassing thing she could think of. She wanted to protest but realized she wasn't going to talk Stan out of it."Ugh, why Stan? Just why?" Red grumbled as Stan packed his things. "I can still hunt, I promise." She knew she was lying but she was extremely against a hunter going with her. Stan scoffed and opened the door to show the moonlit night outside. He turned back to Red and just waited for her, not even bothering to entertain her pleas.
Red gave In as her own hunter got the better of her, she warned Culter not to lay a finger on her grandma if he wanted to live. Culter just continued to sip his bottle and rolled his eyes. Red huffed and stormed out of the house, her emotions ready to boil over.
"Ugh, I hate zombies sometimes, it's like he doesn't realize how dangerous he his!" Red crossed her arms as the two walked along the trail leading into town. Stan sighed and allowed Red to be her angry self, better not to rile her up while she was like this.
Red picked up a scent of human close by as the pair arrived to town, her eyes glowed and her fangs immediately bared. She didn't know just how hungry she had actually been, Red motioned Stan toward the direction she smelled her food."Remember to control yourself, vampires can survive three days just off a pint of blood. Don't overdo it." Stan gave Red a stern look as he finished, Red rolled her eyes and shook her head at the remark. "I've been doing this for awhile now Stan, I think I know how to hunt." Just then Red picked up another scent, it surprised her and she put her arm out to stop Stan from continuing. "What is it?" He asked, already reaching into his bag.
Red sniffed the air harder this time, she recognized this smell. "What the hell is he doing out here!?" Red yanked Stan's arm and ran the fastest she could without killing the poor human. Red was hungry and she wasn't sure if Isaiah was in danger, but she wasn't taking the chance. Food could wait, or Isaiah could volunteer his blood. Wouldn't that be nice.
The two arrived in Isaiah's front yard to see him sitting on a porch step, listening to music. Stan was still slightly annoyed that Red hadn't mind wiped the kid but there was no time to budge in now. Red had her hands on her hips and was staring at Isaiah wide eyed, Isaiah is as shocked as he is annoyed by the sudden arrival.
"Oh, can I help you?" He asks with a slight tone in his, 'he's getting a little too comfortable with vampires' Red thinks to herself before baring her fangs at him, just a gesture to let him know not to get an attitude with her. Isaiah immediately falls back and quickly fixes his attitude.
"So this the kid you decided to keep around, I must ask why?" Stan crosses his arms while giving a Red a look. Red kisses her teeth "eh, just didn't feel like wiping him, is that a crime?" She retorts.
"Yes, in fact it's one of the most punishable crimes in the supernatural world." Stan states with a smirk. Red frowns and gives up, waving her hands in the air. "I knew that, I'm just thirsty that's all, speaking of..." she looks directly at Isaiah, who nervously looks around hoping some one else was here to get bit by this vampire."Red, no" Stan declares without a hint of hesitation. "He's a child, have some dignity." Red scoffs but nods in understanding, she sniffs the air to see if maybe that guy from earlier is still out by himself. Unfortunately for her, it seemed he had gotten home.
Red realized she'd have go try finding food again, which meant Stan had to join, she glanced over at Isaiah and sighed, knowing what she was about to do. "Alright well you might as well hop along with us, I gotta find food and I kinda suggested earlier that you would help us with something." Red faked a smile to try to convince Isaiah, it didn't work.
"Um what do you mean, help you with something?" He was mostly looking at Stan As he didn't recognize the man and was wondering if he was also a supernatural.
"Hey man, what are you supposed to be?" Isaiah asked before Red could even answer, Stan tilted his head and reluctantly answered. "I'm a hunter, I also heavily disagree with you knowing about us." Isaiah took that as a sign he probably shouldn't give much in the way of conversation to this guy.Red flapped her cape in Isaiah's face to regain his attention. "Hey buddy, come on that wasn't a suggestion. You are coming with us! Like a team of sorts." Red grabbed Isaiah's arm and effortlessly got him to his feet, Isaiah quickly shot a text to his mother before he was dragged off by a crazy vampire and grumpy hunter.
This wasn't quite how he remembered the story of Red Riding Hood going.
