Chapter 9

                                                                        Sapphire's POV

        Luke and the others decided to stick around for my ceremony. Ezra watched as Luke brought my saber towards my face and he cut off my braid. I was so excited. I was now a Jedi Master and I was turning 17 tomorrow.

        I waved goodbye and the Falcon took of into space. Tomorrow would come soon and no one knew it was my Birthday and I intended to keep it that way. When I was on Naboo I visited my mother's house and explored. I had found presents for me from ages 1-17. I didnt know what time I was born at so I usually celebrated my Birthday whenever I had time. It was 2:00 A.M. and there was a knock at my door. "Come in." I said rubbing my eyes. It was Ezra. "What's wrong?" I asked. His face was full of fear. "Come here." I said patting my bed. He laid down next to me and I faced the wall. It was my Birthday but I had to hide it. I felt his arms wrap around my waist and his chin rested on my shoulder. I woke up to see people standing in my door way staring at me. I wondered why until I realized Ezra was fast asleep with his arms around me. I shook Ezra lightly "Ezra? Ezra wake up." He opened his eyes slowly, and looked at me then and quickly moved away. I sat up and got out of bed. Everyone was still staring. Sabine spoke up "Ezra how could you do that she's only 16." "I'm 17." I said. "Yesterday you told me you were 16." She said. "Yea yesterday I was 16. Today I'm 17." I said and pushed past everyone and walked into the bathroom and hopped into the shower. After I got dressed Sabine was asking me questions "Why were you and Ezra in the bed together?" She asked with a smirk. "He had a nightmare and was scared so I let him sleep in my room to make him feel safe." She nodded. "What did you mean by you were 16 yesterday but today your 17?" "It's my Birthday." I said. "Oh your a year older what should I get you?" She said. "Nothing, I dont want to celebrate." I said and brushed past her and walked to my room. I pulled a box out from under my bed it was full of all the Birthday presents.

17. A letter

        I quickly opened the letter and read it.

        Dear Sapphire,

              Happy 17th Birthday. I want you to know if I do die giving Birth to you I love you very much. I'm so sorry about your father. He was the sweetest boy when we first met. Do you know what his first words to me were? He said "Are you an angel?" It was so sweet. I dont know what happened to him now. I know you'll be a strong Jedi someday. Don't forget to help anyone in need. So have you met that special someone yet? If he proposes make sure to tell him he needs my blessing. When he proposes hand him this part of the letter. I give you my blessing, you may marry my daughter. I love you very much Sapphire.

The letter brought tears to my eyes. The door opened and Ezra was standing there. "Are you okay?" I nodded. "I didn't know you were into dolls." He said with a smile. I picked up the doll and traced its features with my finger. Ezra saw me staring at the letter and he snatched it from me. I quickly grabbed it. All he read was Dear Sapphire. "Who's it from?" He asked. "My mother." I said. He wrapped me in a hug. I placed the Family Picture in the photo album and I also put the letter in it. I put everything away except my sketch book and pencils. I layed on my bed and Ezra layed down next to me he stared at me deep in thought. I started drawing him. I sketched his blue hair and his beautiful eyes. The picture was fantastic. "Ezra?" He came back to reality. I showed him the picture I drew. "Wow." He said. I smiled and put the sketch book away. I put my hand up to my head in pain. "Are you okay?" Ezra asked. "Leias in pain." I said.
