Chapter 17 Keeping Hope

I walked over to the ash that use to me my file, and dropped to my knees. Someone placed a hand on my shoulder. I look up to that it was drake."H-hey lets not stay here ok",he said with a frown.everyone gathered into the elevator and we rode it to the auditorium. Everyone exited the elevator and went there separate ways. I decided to got to the kitchen and grab a few things before I refuge in my room. I entered the cafeteria heading to the kitchen when I saw Verlis sitting by himself, but he looked terrified. Curious, I start walking to him to see if he was ok."verlis are you alright". He turned to look at me, and he had a smear of blood on the side of his face."Oh my god you're bleeding",I say pointing. He took a hand and wiped it off and smiled." This is not my blood, its Toby's. I then started to walk to the second floor stairs, until I heard grunting coming from the AV room." Who could be in there", I said shakily holding the door knob. I walked in to see drake leaning on a table covering his eye. He looked at me, his face looks as if he was in intense pain."S-Shadow I need you to leave now". I looked at him confused and concerned."Drake your hurt let m-". He swung his arm just missing me."N-No, just get out of here". He looked furious at me. I then ran out the room and up to the second floor. I stood at the top of the stairs catching my breath."I hope everyone isn't in a cranky mood". I decided to go in the library to grab a book or just sit. The library always seemed to be the quietest in this school. I walked in and saw Felix sitting at one of the tables. He got up and headed to the door but jumped."Shadow please, you need to stop coming up behind me like that"." I'm sorry", I said scratching my head."what are you doing here"."I just needed a quite place to think, but I'm going to bed now", he said. I look at him confused, "but it's kinda early like 4:00". He looked away nervously and nudged his way to the door."I-um just don't wanna be bothered by anyone alright". I nodded at him and he ran out the library. I walked over to the back of the library and sat down at one of the tables. I just sat there staring in one direction thinking and sometimes out loud." I can't take this anymore,why is this happening". I felt a tear run down my face, so I quickly wiped it away."KILL THEM". I herd a voice, but I could depict where it was coming from."KILL THEM". The voice kept repeating over and over. I grabbed my head and and began breathing heavily."Who is saying that, What's going on with me". I got up from my seat, but then I fell to my knees holding my head tighter as the voices got louder. It then came to me, no one was saying this, this is my own mind. I then covering my ears and quietly kept repeating shut up. The voices just got even louder, I was beginning to get very angry. I got to the point where I felt angrier at the voices. As i kept repeating shut up over the voices got extremely loud."Shadow", I herd a voice from behind me. With all my anger I yelled at them."SHUT UP NOW", I said turning around facing them. I gasp at who I saw, it was Tiffany she looked very afraid."Tiffany I-l". Before I could finish my sentence she backed up slowly and ran away. I walked to the nearest chair and sat in it with my head down. I herd someone walk up to me."Your falling into despair, you mustn't lose hope". I look up and was shocked to see Alter."no matter how difficult times get please don't give up hope". I took a deep breath, I felt as after he said that all my worries went away.(What, how can I just feel calm all of a sudden). He was about to walk away until I stopped him." I was about to ask him if he knew my YouTube level but he quickly responded." I'm sorry but you must find that out yourself. I frowned but then remembered something." I think Tamashi was looking for you, are you guys friends or something"."No were not friends, and he's looking for me because we got into a tussle and I cut him", he said angrily. (That could explain why he was bleeding that day I helped him)."I must go if I stay longer he's gonna find me. I nodded and he disappeared. I then walked towards the exit of the library and decided to apologize to Tiffany. I walked down to the second floor and looked at the AV room door. I must see if he is ok I thought. I open then door shaking and gasp. I saw Drake laying on the ground but still breathing. I was relived to see him breathing. I walk close to him ,and his body shot up which scared me. He looked at me and placed a hand on his head."Shadow can you help me to my room",he said holding his hand out. I helped him up and made our way to his room. He invited me in his room so we can play PS4 together. We played games like COD, Minecraft, and Injustice. I then thought of something to ask him."hey Drake could you tell me why one of your eyes is white". He stopped for a moment to look at me."I don't wanna talk about it, ok". His tone was very sad so I nodded and told him I wasn't going to ask it again. After a while of playing games we decided to go to the cafeteria. While walking I thought for a bit. Why did Drakes mood switch when I saw him earlier. We made it to the cafeteria and I saw Tiffany. I walked over to her."Tiffany I'm so sorry I yelled at you I wa-". Before I could finish she got up and gave me a big hug."It's ok I forgive you". Everyone then sat at the tables and ate the food they had got from the kitchen. While eating mark looked at me."Shadow about what happened between you and me I"."it's ok I know you were just scared, I wouldn't blame you",I said smiling. A small smile crept on his face and he sighed in relief. I looked at everyone and it seemed that hope was coming back into the room. Everyone was happy and laughing. I decided to go in the kitchen to get some more food to eat before I go to bed. I walked in the kitchen and saw Tamashi sitting on the counter eating a sandwich."You know you can eat with us right", I said pointing to the door. He looked at me shocked and looked away."I don't want to go out there, I'll fell awkward". I grabbed more food and before I left I looked at him again,"you sure". He turned to me and grunted, "Fuck off". I turned and headed to the cafeteria. As we sat and ate Tamashi entered the room sat at a table by himself."He's not really a bad person, he just needs to relax with all the death and stuff", Tiffany whispered to me. I nodded at her and looked at him. He was facing looking away from us eating.( Is this guy actually who he seems to be). I finished my food and went to my room." I deserve this rest its been to much happening today". Once I hit my bed I fell in a deep sleep.
