Chapter 36 It All Ends Here

We made it to the trial room and the doors opened there was a new sign and a new color theme. The room was a bit different the signs were bigger and hung on the walls leaving 16 empty podiums. The room had white tile floors and olive green walls. Tamashi was standing next to his chair with a devilish grin, and a familiar face was sitting in Tamashi's chair."Bout time you dumbasses got here",Toby said. "Toby didn't you die in an execution",Speedy said. "Hahaha Oh speedy, don't you know you can hire a look alike cool isn't it,Toby said as he looked at the pictures of everyone."its a shame, I really liked you guys, but if I let you guys live then how could I despair",He said. He got up and walked to a podium in front of the chair, and we stood at the podiums that were further away from him."What do you mean let us live",Ian said. Toby looked at him then the rest of us,"Well you see I organized this event as a little get together, but you see if I become friends with you guys then I might fall into hope and you know I can only despair". "Why can't you have hope like theses guys its very strong why must you go for despair",Verlis said. Toby laughing loudly almost as if he was insane."To me, despair isn't goal or a cause or a way of life or an instinct... It's what defines me as  Toby! He started laughing loudly and then stopped."But I cant speak anymore in order to have a trial someone has to die". He smiled ear to ear and placed a hand over his eyes. He swung his finger around and stopped. We all looked stunned as Toby pointed at Tamashi. He was very stunned and just looked at Toby. If you were full of despair like me, or worthy of being Ultimate Despair your brothers should've been dead",Toby said. Toby was walking back to his podium then Tamashi yelled. I watched him as tears began poring down his face(This is the first time I've seen him cry, I know everyone wanted him to die but not like this, I felt terrible). He snapped his fingers and TV's appeared on the walls and they turned on. We all gasped as we saw people getting killed before our eyes. Buildings were being blown to shreds,people were getting shot left and right, fire everywhere, and different sized Black and white bears with a red eye piercing people with there claws."W-What's going on",Ian said. "Despair, Why leave, you might die out there,your much more safe here where your lives lies with you guys. AND to add in more despair, your families are probably most likely dead hehehehe". I was trying to figure out what to choose but I couldn't."What do you want out of this destruction, the world's future, why fall for despair",Speedy said nervously. Toby seemed irritated by Speedy's remark, but he gave a sinister smile."I don't want anything!" (This guy is like the Despair version of verlis). "Just to let you know if one of you vote different from the others you will all die, but by looking at everyone's despairing faces I can't wait to see your answers. I should just pick for you guys since you all have no future in or out of here,but let me shut up and here the results",Toby said. (Maybe he's right, we're probably better off here). It felt as if despair filled the room but then I remembered everything that everyone had said to me.(I must not let my friend's choose to stay we have to go outside). "We mustn't lose hope, we fought our way to make it here and we should go outside",I said." Do you think you can accomplish any thing in this school". Ian looked at me and nodded,"No I won't accomplish anything here, that's why I vote.... Outside. Toby looked a bit more angry,"Outside is only despair,Suffer from despair in here where its much greater". My focus was now on Tiffany and Felix. "You two have alot of potential, by being in this school how are you going to show it. Tiffany even though you're just Ultimate Gamer doesn't mean you're limited on what you can do. The slot machine appeared and began spinning."WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON",Toby yelled angrily.the slot machine stopped on three chibi faces of Toby and instead of guilty it had 'Congratulations the final 7 won the game'. Toby stood there with a blank expression,"What, what happened". "You lost Toby",Speedy said. "I did...........HOW WONDERFULLY DESPAIRING IS THAT". We all stood there confused and how happy he was. He was jumping and drooling. He tossed over some keys,"Here these unlock the door out of here which is located in the in the lobby, which is right next to the auditorium". He looked at the button that Tamashi pushes for executions."I ALWAYS WANTED TO KNOW HOW MUCH DESPAIR I WOULD FEEL  I'M SO SO SO SO SO HAAAAPPPPYYY"."IT'S PUNISHMENT TIME". He slammed the button and his execution started. We all watched the tv screens to see he was enduring all of the previous executions but they all would miss. There was one new one, Toby was on a giant conveyor belt and at the end was a giant block of metal slamming on the ground.He was rocking back and forth on a chair he was on as he moved closer to the block. He sat at the end with the metal block over him, alter appeared and looked at us with a bright smile and then he looked at Toby with a scowl and disappeared. Toby didn't have fear on his face. He looked more like a kid in a candy store. Finally the metal black came down and killed him. We all looked at each other not sure if it was over and made a group hug. We got in to the elevator and headed towards the lobby. In the lobby was nothing but a big safe like door with a small keyhole. We walked to it and i placed the key in. I turned to everyone and they nodded. We were ready, ready for what our next journey could be.
