Chapter 9; This Is Faithfulness At Its Finest

**SEEING OF MICE AND MEN ON SUNDAY! <3 Headed to Toronto this Friday for the Feb. 10th show <3 It's my first time seeing them and I'm so excited! :D** It's all in Alan's POV**

Alan's POV:

We walked into the store and I grabbed a shopping cart, Maryanne walked ahead of me toward the cereal aisle and grabbed 3 different kinds before tossing them into the cart. I stopped walking and ran behind her picking her up by her waist as she was looking for another box. She squealed and started laughing, "Alan put me down!" I laughed with her saying no and spun us around a couple times before finally putting her back on her feet. She lost her her balance so I quickly grabbed her before she fell over and kissed her on the forehead, cheek, nose then finally her lips. She blushed "Alan, you're too cute, now go get the cart silly"

I walked back over to the cart and pushed it back towards her, how did I ever get so lucky to have her feel the same way as I do? I smiled to myself as she dropped 2 more boxes of cereal into the cart.

We walked over the refrigerated section of the store and she asked me to grab milk and eggs while she went to get some bacon and hamburgers. She came skipping back to me, dropping the things she had into the cart she came over to me and kissed me. I lifted her off the ground and she wrapped her legs around my waist as I deepened the kiss. After a minute we remembered where we were and she let go of me before I set her feet back on the floor.

We went around the store, filling up the cart as we went along, stopping to kiss or tickle each other, which earned us some stares and smiles from other customers in the store. We had gotten everything we needed and headed to the check out, pilling everything onto the counter. After everything had been scanned and bagged, Maryanne pulled out her wallet and payed the cashier as I put the bags in the cart.

We walked out and loaded everything into the car and decided to go back home to put the groceries away before going to do anything else for the day.

Half an hour later we pulled into the driveway, Austin still wasn't back home so we brought everything in after 2 trips back to the car. After we put everything away we went back out to the car and sat there to decide what to do next. Then I heard her say, "How about we go to the SPCA and look at kittens?", "I'll want to take one home though.." I replied to her. "She looked over at me smiling, "That's the point gingy" I laughed and said, "Well okay! Awe our first pet together!". She laughed at that and replied in the girliest voice I'd ever heard come out of her, "Awe we're such a great couple, grocery shopping together now getting a pet, just so cute!". I laughed harder at how she sounded saying that, how on earth did I get so lucky?

20 minutes later we arrived at the SPCA, locking the car doors we walked in and went straight to where the cats were kept. There was so many, this was going to be hard.

We both went to seperate cages looking for a cat or kitten that caught our eye. "AWWWEEE AREN'T YOU THE CUTEST LITTLE THING EVER!!", I looked over to Maryanne holding a tiny grey kitten that had one blue and one one light green eye.

I walked over to her and she handed me the tiny kitten, "Isn't he so precious?!?" She squealed, with a huge smile on her face. I smiled big back at her, "Yes he's so adorable, is this the one you want baby?" Oh. That was the first time I've called her baby.. I looked down at her and saw she was blusing, "Yeah babe, if you like him too I mean.." I smiled at that and nodded, "He's perfect".

I put the kitten down and we walked out of the room with the cats to the dest to ask about the kitten. "Did you need any help?", the lady at the desk had asked us. I nodded and replied, "Yes, there was a little grey kitten with two color eyes, is he available for adoption?".

She turned to the computer beside her and typed something in, "The one is the first room with the cages?" she asked, Maryanne then replied, "Yes that one" she sounded so hopeful I couldn't help but smile more. "Yes he's available, he just got neutered a couple days ago, he was the runt of the litter so that's why he's so small. He probably won't grow to be as big as most cats but he has no health problems that we know of so far".

I smiled down at Maryanne and grabbed her hand, she squeezed mine back, "We'd like to adopt him" I said to the girl. "Alright well you'll have to get a cat carrier to take him but you can fill out the form and pay for him now if you'd like?", "Yes of course, would be able to come get him in an hour or so?" I asked. She nodded and said "Yes, that's fine. Is this your first cat?". Maryanne giggled, "No we're cat lovers, we decided to adopt one together", "And if something ever happens who will keep the cat?" she asked us both.

We looked at each other smiling and I spoke first, "I don't think anything like that will happen but if it does, she'll keep him because I'm in a band with her brother, and I practically live at their house anyways. We've been friends too long to let anything tear us apart.". The girl took the friends comment in the wrong way and started trying to flirt with me, not noticing that Maryanne and I were holding hands. "Oh? Any band I would know of?" she asked, smiling at me. "Unless you go to Warpped Tour or know bands who take part in it, no you probably don't, but we're called Of Mice And Men", she didn't look like the kind of girl who would attend Warped.

Maryanne must have noticed that the girl was attempting to flirt with me and gotten annoyed because she pulled at my arm a little making me look down at her before she stood on her toes to kiss me. The girl frowned at that and said "Oh you're in one of those bands.. I should have known from the tattoos. Are you just a groopie then?", she directed the question to Maryanne. I KNEW that got to her because she had a pissed off look on her face before she turned back to the girl and said, "Oh no sweetie, you must have missed the part where he said I'm his bandmate aka best friends sister and practically lives at my house. I tour with them and stuff. My boyfriend here is an amazing guitar player who I've known for the past almost what 5 years."

The girl just looked shocked at Maryanne's little outburst and changed the subject, "So the adoption fee is 90$, are you paying with cash, debit or credit card?", "Cash" I replied pulling out a 100$ bill and handing it to her. She gave us a form to fill out, so we did leaving the name for last. I looked at Maryanne, "What do you want to name him?" she smiled at me and said, "Koda?". "Sounds great to me", I replied as I wrote down the name. When we finished filling out the form I handed it back to the girl and we left to go buy things for our new kitten.

***Insert driving to a pet store, buying kitten food, toys, treats, a scatching post, litter/litterbox, carrier and driving back to the SPCA here***

When we got back to the SPCA we walked back in and Maryanne had calmed down about the incident that happened before we had left. We walked over to the desk hand in hand with the carrier and said we were ready to bring Koda home. She went to grab him and gave us some forms and kitten care booklets and wrote down when to bring him to the vets for his next shots. We put him in the carrier with a blanket and let the SPCA to head back home.

**I'm probably not going to upload again till Tuesday or Wednesday because like I said, I'm going to Toronto for an Of Mice And Men concert in a couple days!
