"Cause I'd love to feel love but I can't stand the rejection
I hide behind my jokes as a form of protection
I thought I was close but under further inspection
It seems I've been running in the wrong direction"
Passenger, All The Little Lights
"The Wrong Direction"

Alec gasped for air as he ran from the building. Peter's a lot heavier than he looks. He kept running for a good ten minutes before stopping in the woods that were near the building. He put Peter down carefully and sat down across from him.

"How are you? Think you can walk on your own?" Peter shook his head slowly. "What's hurting? Other than the bullet in your shoulder." Peter motioned to his rib cage.

"Broken ribs and the bullet wound." Alec nodded at Peter's reply.

"But I also found this, do you know what it is?" Alec asked, holding out a leather wrist device with a large amount of little buttons on it and a small screen.

"Yeah, that's mine. I bet it's busted though." Peter said as he took it from Alec and slipped it onto his left wrist; he pressed a button and the glamour slipped back onto his wings. "Well, I guess it's not totally busted."

"What's it do? Other than that."

"It's a teleportation device. So if you have the coordinates as to where we have to go I can just put them in and off we go." Alec grabbed Peter's arm and typed the coordinates in quickly. Peter grabbed Alec's wrist and pressed the button to teleport them. In a short second the two were standing outside of a black car, a Dodge Durango to be exact.

"Is this yours?" Peter asked with pain straining his voice. He motioned to the car.

"Yeah." Alec replied, rubbing his temples. "Damn, that was not the nicest teleport I've had." Peter tried to look at his shoulder blade to see how much it was bleeding from the gun wound. Alec looked at Peter sympathetically.

"We'll get that fixed up back at H.Q, okay? But right now I want to stop the bleeding." Alec said, looking concerned, which was actually kind of cute looking.

"Okay." Peter replied, smiling to reassure Alec that he was okay. Alec raised a skeptical eyebrow, but opened the trunk on the car and grabbed a first aid kit.

"Sit here." Alec instructed and pointed to the edge of the back. Peter did as told.

"Back already?" Asked a female voice from the front of the car.

"Yeah, he got himself shot though so I need to stop the bleeding."

"Okay." She replied to Alec with a wave of her hand. Alec tugged at Peter's shirt.

"Take it off, I can't see the wound." Alec said as he started to rummage through the first aid kit. Peter clenched his jaw at the pain in his upper body as he first pulled off his jacket then removed the shirt. Alec sighed as he looked at the bloody puncture in Peter's flesh. "Well, I can't do much more than stop the bleeding and put a bandage on it. They got you good, that bullet's still in your shoulder."

"Great." Replied Peter sarcastically. Alec took a patch of gauze and placed it over the wound.

"At least it's not bleeding too badly anymore." Alec mumbled as he wrapped a bandage haphazardly around Peter's shoulder in an attempt to keep the gauze patch in place. "Sorry, this is about as makeshift as it gets. I'm not a medic after all." He added as he packed up the kit and put it away. "We need to go; get in the car."
