"This alone, you're in time for the show
You're the one that I need
I'm the one that you loathe
You can watch me corrode like a beast in repose
'Cause I love all the poison
Away with the boys in the band"

"The Sharpest Lives""Oh you heard me." Alec said, smiling like a ninny as he walked out the door. He knew it was a huge risk he was taking. He knew it might screw him over. And well, he knew a lot of risks he was taking by saying what he thought. Yet he did it anyway. Alec liked Peter a lot and he could tell Peter liked him back. It wasn't just looks for the reason either of them liked each other. It was personality and character traits. Then was just up to one of them to say what they thought. And Alec had done just that.
Peter was left sitting in his room, absolutely and utterly confused. Alec had been so upfront but Peter hadn't been able to utter a word. Peter wanted so badly to say how he felt but was too afraid of the what ifs. With a sigh he decided that he would say what had been on his mind since the second they'd meet. Alec had always been much more than just the guy who'd broke Peter out of his little "prison". Quickly, Peter walked out of his room and to the kitchen where everyone was eating. He sat down next to Alec and started eating without word.
It didn't take a rocket scientist to tell that there was a bit of an awkward tension between the two. The fact that they didn't even exchange the smile they normally did was a great indicator.
"Everything okay over there?" Cass asked timidly, her usual upfront persona had disappeared or had been cleverly concealed. Peter nodded quickly. He didn't want the rest of the team figuring out that something was going on between them.
"Of Course. Why do you ask?" Alec answered for Peter, easily sensing that Peter was slightly freaked out at the whole deal earlier. That was making Alec regret his choices.
"You two have been unusually quiet." Cass replied.
"Well we're fine." Peter butted in. Sam stifled a laugh by clearing his throat. Everyone turned to look at him. He cleared his throat again and said "oh uh, hi, yeah, don't mind me." Cass shook her head. Peter looked confused.
"Are you okay?" Peter asked with a raised eyebrow. Sam nodded, a small smile at his lips, he was putting the pieces of the puzzle together.
"Fine." Sam replied as he returned to his meal. Peter nodded slowly. He didn't quite understand why they were making a big deal out of it. But he let it slide. 'I want to talk to you later.' Peter mouthed to Alec, starting a silent conversation. 'Why?' Alec mouthed back. 'You'll see.' Alec raised his eyebrows at the last sentence but mouthed or said nothing else. Cass, Iris, and Sam had gone onto other conversation topics other than how weird Alec and Peter were being.
Peter stood up and left silently. No one noticed except for Alec who left about five minutes after Peter did. Cass nor Iris nor Sam noticed the two's absence.
"Okay, what the hell is this all about? Why'd you drag me out of my dinner to talk?" Alec asked impatiently.
"First of all, you didn't have to come after me. And secondly, there's something I need to get off my chest." What? Your shirt? Alec thought but only said "and what is that?"
"Okay, here goes nothing. I really really like you. I don't know if you feel the same way but I do. Ever since I first met you when you dragged me out of that god forsaken place where all they wanted to do was experiment on me- I really thought I liked you. And it turns out I still do. I just don't know if you feel the same way." Peter said, looking at Alec with a scared look in his eyes. Alec smiled.
