Chapter 10

Hermes POV (didn't expect this one) 

The last few days have been fucking terrible. Zeus is really pissed at Poseidon and Hades for some reason and now wants war. I've been losing my faith in him for a while but this just proves it, the mans bloody lost it. His greediness and paranoia have hit an all time high the last few years and it's just became to much. Sure those two qualities have always held him back from being a good ruler but never to this extent, he's never willingly put Olympus under threat. He's threatened war on Poseidon before but at least he had a reason last time. His reason was absolute bullshit but it was still a reason. Now, he's irrationally declaring war and possibly sending us to our doom. Poseidon's army is strong and if he can get Hades on his Side they could give us a run for our money. On top of that our troops are demoralised and hesitant to partake in another war. The last one was literally only a few months ago. Camp half blood doesn't have the numbers or resources that they need to fight a war, and Camp Jupiter can probably muster enough resources to fight a war but whether they'll do it is another thing entirely. Of course we can force them, but that will just create more resentment towards us then we already have. Then there's the rest of the council, for some fucked up reason their onboard with Zeus's idea. Do they not give a damm that their children might die. I've already lost Luke I can't stand the idea of losing any more of my children. There's no way in hell I'm got to let Connor and travis die on my watch, if that means going behind Zeus back I'm prepared to do that. And of course there's Percy, I love Percy basically just as much as I love my children and god forbid if I'm going to let Zeus's fucking stupid wars hurt him more than they already have. So I guess that what I'll do, I can't believe I'm saying this, but I'm going betray Olympus. 

Percy POV

 I've been expecting many things, Hermes crashing through my window is not one of them. In a fraction of a second I had my sword at Hermes's throat.

 "Wait" Hermes breathes "it's alright Percy, i mean no harm, I've came here to talk."

  Withdrawing my sword from his throat I help him to his feet "very good, it's great to see you again Hermes it's been to long."

 "It certainly has my boy, I wish we could have had this meeting under different circumstances."

 "Speaking of which" I ask "what are you doing here?"

 "I've came here to offer my assistance to your cause." 

"Why would you want to betray Olympus?"

 "Because I don't want you or my children to die while I sit on my throne and do nothing."

 "You have the right idea my friend, unlike your fellow Olympians."

 "Not wanting your loved ones to die shouldn't be the right idea, it should just be the default for everyone." 

"Very true, Hermes, very true" 

"so I think we should probably go talk to your father?" 

"He's gone to the underworld to recruit Hades"

 "So Triton it is then?" 

"Triton it is."
