A Muggleborn in Slytherin was unheard of. Until Emelia Clermont came along in 1991. This is her story, and how s...
Emelia frowned as she ate her dinner. For the first time, the food just didn't appeal to her. Her fork clattered to her plate as a voice suddenly whispered in her ear.
"Come... Come to me..."
She blinked and looked around her.
"Blood... I smell blood..."
Emelia stood up all of sudden, gaining confused looks from the ones around her. She hurried out of the Hall, leaving her food behind.
The shadows made by the torches lining the walls made everything seem much more ominous as she stumbled along, following the mysterious voice.
"Kill... Time to kill..."
Emelia ran, and her feet got wet as water splashed wildly around her feet. The water oozed over the stone floor. Emelia looked down and saw her own reflection. Behind her, undulating like a dream, were words.
She turned around sharply and her breath got stuck in her throat.
THE CHAMBER OF SECRETS HAS BEEN OPENED. ENEMIES OF THE HEIR... BEWARE
Written in blood that slowly trickled to the floor. All of a sudden she heard footsteps, and her three friends appeared.
"Emelia? What..." Harry panted, confused.
The Slytherin swallowed visibly. "I... I didn't do this, Harry."
"The Chamber of Secrets has been opened....?" Hermione read the wall.
"What's that?" Ron asked. "Hanging underneath."
"That's Filch's cat. Mrs Norris," Harry answered.
The cat hung stiffly by her tail from a torch bracket, eyes open and blank. Emelia's eyes shifted to the adjacent window. Near the topmost pane, spiders scuttled up a silvery thread, fighting to get through a crack in the glass.
"Look at that. Have you ever seen spiders act like that? Ron...?" Hermione noted.
Ron was backing away, his eyes flitting between the spiders and Emelia with a scared look on his face. "I... Don't... Like... Spiders."
After seeing the still apprehensive looks on the three Gryffindors' faces, Emelia panicked.
"Please! You have to believe me!"
Suddenly, the stairwell was alive with voices and, seconds later, dozens of students streamed forth, chattering. They stopped, seeing the wall and, standing before it, Harry, Ron, Hermione and Emelia. A thudding silence fell.
