"Kill this time."

Emelia tossed about in her green-sheeted bed, drops of perspiration gathering on her forehead.

"Let me rip."

It sounded as if someone was screaming into her ear now.

"Tear!"

Emelia shot upwards with a harsh gasp escaping her mouth. She blinked harshly, and through her somewhat blurry sight, she saw the reflection of the lake water on the carpeted floor.

The room was basked in a dark green glow because of it.

She also saw her roommates looking at her with sleepy, questioning gazes and annoyance.

The latter one looked as if it was engraved on Parkinson's face.

Millicent Bulstrode, a heavy dark-haired girl with several warts speckled over her face, groaned at the interruption of her sleep and laid back down.

Pansy Parkinson, however, wasn't going to ignore her. "Go sleep in the common room if you can't keep your pathetic self quiet, Mudblood. I need my beauty sleep."

Emelia was about to retort something and try to go back to sleep, but Daphne Greengrass interrupted them.

"Pansy, you can insult her all you want in the morning." Then the blonde turned towards her, "Mudblood, either put a silencing charm around you if you can or bugger off."

Emelia almost wanted to thank Daphne, but then realised that she had also insulted her. With her body being too tired, she just laid back down and cast a quick silencing charm.

There was another quidditch match, and naturally, Emelia decided to stay in the library. She'd been to one match and decided she didn't like the biting winds and the height.

A few minutes after she'd settled down with a book describing the different defences against several offences and vice versa, she heard someone exclaim, "The pipes!"

The brunette frowned and leaned to the left in her chair and saw Hermione with a page in her hand.

Then, out of nowhere—

"Kill!"

Emelia's eyes widened and she stood up abruptly, causing the wooden chair to fall on the ground. Madam Pince gave her a stern glare.

The Slytherin ignored her and walked as quietly as she could in Hermione's direction with her heart pounding in her ears.

She looked past a bookcase and saw the bushy hair of the Gryffindor. She looked further and saw the petrified body of Hermione Granger, a silver mirror in her hand.
