Deans POV
It's been almost three months since Laurel joined the family. Her and Cas got along great.
"Who is he?" Cas asked. He sat next to Laurel in front of the TV. They were watching Taken.
"That's Liam Neeson. He's a fantastic actor." Laurel explained.
"Oh." Cas looked back at the TV. "Why is he shooting all of those men?"
"They took his daughter."
"And he's getting her back?"
"Yes."
"Why?"
"Because she's his daughter, Cas."
"But she didn't listen."
"Cas... Just watch the damn movie."
Laurel and Cas continued to watch the movie while I talked with Sam in the kitchen.
"Should we have her go to school?" I asked.
"Yes, Dean. She should try and be a normal teen. Why should we force this life on her when she doesn't need it?"
"Because she's family." I answered, clearly frustrated. "It's what we've always done, Sammy. Saving people, hunting things, the family business. Ring any bells? How is she supposed to be normal when her brothers are out killing the things nightmares are made of, especially when she's done it too?"
"We need to at least try. We have a sister now."
I nodded. "You're right. We actually have the chance to give her a normal life. She has two older brothers now, and we can help her."
We stood in silence, watching Laurel and Cas talk about the movie.
"It almost doesn't seem fair." I whispered to Sam. "We always had each other... she had no one."
I thought about all the times Sammy saved me. I wouldn't be here if it weren't for him. He's my rock. The person I lean on for support, even if I don't show it.
"We can't let her go, Sam."With that, we headed towards Laurel and Cas, still plastered in front of the TV.
"Cas, not everyone will kidnap you if you go on a plane." Laurel said.
"It doesn't matter. I don't want you to go on any planes." Cas said, watching the credits roll across the screen.
"Laurel?" Sam interrupted, "Can you come here a sec?"
Laurel got up and followed Sam and I into the Kitchen.
"What's going on guys?" Laurel sat on the counter and waited for one of us to answer.
"We think you should go to school." Sam said.
Laurel threw her head back and laughed.
"Good one guys. You really had me goin for a second." She said. She hopped off the counter and began to leave the room when Sam spoke again.
"Laurel, it wasn't a joke."
Laurel spun around on her heels and looked between the two of us.
"Oh my god. You really are serious..." She said, sitting back on the counter. She thought for a second before speaking again.
"Hell no." She said, crossing her arms. "I am 17. I dropped out of school when I ran away at 12. There is no way I'm going back to finish this year and then leave again. The school year is almost over anyways! Its April. What's the point? How would I make any friends? It's not like they could come over anyways. They'd walk in and be like,
'You really live here?'
'Yes.'
'Why?'
'Because my brothers and I kill supernatural beings and it's the only place we're safe. Want some cocoa?'" Laurel mocked. "Yea. I can see how many friends that will get me."Sam sighed and looked at me for suggestions. I shrugged and took a step back.
She kinda had a point.
"We will find a house then." Sam said.
"And pay for it with what money?" I asked.
Sam glared at me. "Look. just try one day. If you don't like it, you won't need to go back, okay?"
Laurel thought it over for a minute.
"Fine." She jumped off the counter and walked back towards Cas who was setting up the Sorry game.
"You know we're gonna have to drive her there, right? She never got her license." I said.
"I know. But on the bright side, you're the one with the car," Sam said, with a pat on my shoulder, "so you can drive her!"
I stared at Sam as he walked into the other room.
"You have to go too!" I yelled back.
