Sam's POV

"You do understand that we will have to suspend her."
Dean looked at the woman in front of him.
"If she fought that girl, there had to have been a good reason. She's not just gonna do it out of boredom." He said.
I shrugged, "Well-"
Dean kicked my shin.
"Yea. She wouldn't do that." I agreed, stifling a laugh.
"It doesn't matter. Fighting is against the rules. She has a three week suspension." The woman said.
Dean and I nodded and walked out of the office.
Laurel stood in front of the door carrying her books in one hand and wiping at her jeans with the other. I wasn't sure who's blood was on her jeans but I really didn't want to find out.
"Let's go." Dean said.
They began to walk out of the school when Laurel stopped.
"Wait." She said. She ran over to the nearest trash can and let all of the books fall in.
"Now we can go."
I opened the door and walked out. Dean and Laurel followed.
"We said we'd be back at three, Laurel. Not twelve." Dean said.
"I know. I didn't mean to fight. I didn't start it though! I promise."
Dean opened the door of the Impala and Laurel climbed in.
She was greeted by Cas grabbing her in a giant, suffocating hug.
"I missed you today." He said. He sounded like a little kid when their parents got home from work.
"I missed you too, Cas." Laurel said as she hugged back. I shut the door and watched Cas suffocate Laurel in another hug.
They were interrupted by the sounds of sirens close by.
I looked over and saw an ambulance pull up and around us.
A girl was being carried out of the school.
Her face was covered in purple and blue spots. Her eyes were a dark shade of grey and her lips were puffy. Her nose looked out of place. Laurel had broken her nose. Blood covered her face and ran down her neck. Her arms were bruised as well, and she held her stomach. She was put in the ambulance. The sirens faded as it sped off.
"Laurel... what the hell did she say to you?" I asked, turning to look at her in the backseat.
Dean turned around too. His mouth hung open.
"It doesn't matter." Laurel said as she looked away.
"Laurel." Dean said. "Please tell us what she did."
Laurel sat in silence, staring at her hands. They were still stained with the girls blood. Finally, she spoke up.
"She made fun of you guys." Laurel began. "She talked about Dad. And made fun of my mom. I... I got mad. She tried pissing me off earlier, and it worked, but I didn't fight her. I didn't want to break my promise. But then- the way she talked about you guys- I couldn't help it." Laurel looked down. "I didn't mean to hurt her as bad as I did."
I shared a look with Dean.
Cas put his arm around Laurel, pulling her back into a hug. Dean started the car and put it in drive.
We turned down the road and headed towards the bunker. I looked out the window and Cas continued to hug Laurel.
Nobody said a word the entire ride back.
Dean couldn't stop smiling.
