I finally got home at 9:32pm and, as I expected, no one was at home. I was so scared of what could have happened to both my mum and my sister and didn't really know what to do so I decided to call the police.
When a woman's voice answered at last, I started telling her what happened and she listened, calmly, as if nothing was wrong, even though my voice was shaking. As I went through the whole story I broke on tears and the poor woman, worried, comforted me.
The woman told me to relax and to wait some minutes as she told one of her colleagues the problem. A while later, a man's voice now attending me, tells me that my mum is at the location of the crime where an unknown man has committed murder on my sister and now, she is not with us anymore.
At that moment everything fell apart and my life, from one second to another, paused and never went back to being the same. Everything started being unhappy. Nothing felt the same. The moment I heard those words I stopped in a complete shock not being able to believe any of this but it was, indeed.
Coming back home from university and not finding anyone to receive me with a sweet warm smile and a hug that, on my daily routine didn't mean much but now I would do anything to relive those moments with her and never look forward to the disaster that happened afterwards. Everything was now dark and nothing seemed to make me happy or excited. From one second to another I turned off. I didn't stopped being me. I just stopped being.
