When we were doing things I'm not going to say, she left all the clothes she was wearing laying in the floor. If she was carrying the pen with her it had to be there. I waited until she went to the bathroom and checked every piece of clothing until I found it, on her pants, I rapidly put it inside my pocket and waited until next day morning when she was leaving for breakfast with a friend she had in Paris to see what was inside that pen.
As I introduced the pen drive on the laptop I expected something bad to be in it, didn't know what about exactly but I knew it was going to be something bad indeed because why would she hide it on a pen, at the same time hidden on a secret wardrobe, it couldn't be a plan for a surprise birthday party, she wouldn't hide it that well. What I found was a thousand times worse than what I expected. There were all the records of the security cameras from the moment I had the confidential conversation with my boss revealing absolutely everything. Amanda knew the truth then, by this time, she could have told the authorities already and maybe she is now that she is not at the hotel. I thought of maybe deleting the proofs from the pen and from the laptop itself but then remembered two things: 1. She could have made a copy of all the records and hidden them wherever she wanted or have just already shown the proofs to the authorities, and 2. She would realize the records had disappeared magically and she would know only I could have entered her laptop someway even though I wasn't supposed to know the password but anyhow I was the only one who could access the room privately, apart from the staff of the hotel, who probably gave her those records so it wouldn't make sense if they stole them back because they already had them. Moreover, if she knew the truth and on top that had no one else to blame, she would instantly think of me, after what I have done, I would be the first one she would point her finger to.
I was so freaking confused as I had never been in my life, I was trapped. I had no way out, I couldn't eliminate the proofs and neither I could avoid her going to the authorities because perhaps she already did without me knowing it. I then decided to do the only possible thing.
