Justice for Kayla

Chapter 1 : How everything began

May 15th 2021; That was the date my sister was murdered, and as a consequence the day that my life changed forever.
It was a normal day, I didn't have university so I stayed at home sleeping until later in the morning, my mum was at work and wouldn't come until 5pm and my sister was at school as it was Monday morning and I would see her at 4pm, when she was "supposed" to return, but she never did...
The hours went by and I was very preoccupied for my sister, Kayla, who was a very responsible girl and never came home late without telling me or my mum previously. I started to call her successively but, as you may have guessed, no answer...
I started calling my mum but neither she answered so I decided to go to my sister's high school to ask for her. As i headed towards there I noticed more police cars than usual on the roads and also some ambulances driving at a really high speed through the streets.
I thought maybe something happened... some accident perhaps... but I let it go because it was none of my business.
When I finally arrived at the high school there seemed to be nobody there, it was empty as outer space. I then decided to go to my mum's work place, but again, no one there. It was 9pm and it started to be dark so I decided to return back home and, if neither my mum nor my sister were there, call the police and report my sister and mum as missing.
