Her heart broke into a million tiny pieces as she arrived on the scene. A massive hole took up the space that had once been the entrance to the USJ, and from what she could see, the entire arena was full to the brim with damage. Jagged rocks were blocking the most obvious port of entry when she first looked, but one blink, and a soundwave that she'd never fail to recognize burst through the air and destroyed the rubble that had impeded her and all the other first responder's ways. It also served to obliterate some of her panic. At the very least, her brother was safe. She sprinted up to one of the ambulances when she saw him- bright yellow hair and a pristine leather jacket. "Hizashi! Where is he?!" She called as she grabbed at his upper arm, immediately tugging him into a hug. He was on autopilot, and she could see it in his face. No tears fell from his peridot eyes, but she could see the turmoil behind them. "Hizashi, you have to tell me what I can do."
He blinked, clearing his throat before he sniffed in and looked down at his sister. Soot dusted over his freckled cheeks- a trait they both shared. "The kids, there's still some in there... I can't get in, they won't let me in."
She'd be damned if they didn't let her in.
She nodded assertively as she moved past him, one gentle and reassuring caress of her hand over his shoulder being her last contact before immediately unsheathing the knife strapped to her hip and slicing open her forearm. She could hardly feel it anymore. The blood dripped down her arm and into a pool. "I need a count," she shouted as she stepped into the arena.
"There's 20 kids," She'd know that voice anywhere. Another great weight fell from her shoulders as she turned to see Shouta being carried by who she could only assume was one of his students. The boy was tall, white-haired with a teal mask obscuring most of his face. The appendages attached to him were reminiscent of arms, though held together by stranger sinews than she could say she'd seen before. "Most of them are out, but I-" He choked, face thoroughly bloodied and bruised. She nodded, eyes filling with tears. He looked so very broken- she could only imagine how Hizashi would feel as soon as his eyes landed on him, but she couldn't afford to linger on that now. It wasn't the time, and he was fine. He would be fine. "They can hold their own, but... please find them. Please."
Thankfully, each and every one of the children were fine, other than a green haired boy that had been whisked away with All Might. She had overheard that this boy had poor control of his quirk, and that he'd broken his legs trying to utilize it. Among the others were some minor scrapes and bruises, but nothing too bad, so she left them to the police and went to the hospital to meet up with Hizashi, who would no doubt be glued to Shouta's wounded side.
When she arrived, he was wrapped up in bandages, but seemingly stable. She had received a full handover from the attending doctor- he had facial fractures and some internal bleeding, and they were concerned for his eyesight. She had laughed just a little at this remark- his eyes were always so bloodshot and he was always exhausted, so those close to him had lived in constant concern for them. She shook her head as she held his foot. His hand had been crushed, so both she and Hizashi had opted to take a foot instead while they visited him. Machines beeped quietly as they sat in silence- the doctors had agreed that it would be best to keep him under for a while longer until his body had begun to heal and recover more from the shock.
Hizashi had kept most of what he knew to himself, and despite being known for being a bit of a loud-mouth, this was a story that he wasn't willing to share. Being mostly disconnected from the hero world, she wasn't privy to what had happened other than "villains attacked". The school had kept a tight wrap on the event, only letting droplets of information out at a time. The public didn't need to worry about whatever that was, she assumed, despite her reservations on that way of thinking. If there was danger, she believed people had the right to know. She had pondered it during her many "shifts" at Shouta's bedside as he convalesced, making sure Hizashi stayed fed and got to rest, too.
