One night.

The universe couldn't give me one night to be happy.

The sound of sirens blaring throughout the city alerted me and Peter that something was wrong, and we had to go.

Making our way towards the source, we saw smoke coming from the bridge, so we landed, and I pulled off my jacket revealing my suit. There was a large line up of cars and suddenly people began to run away.

Looking down I saw a giant lizard, "What the fuck is that?"

Peter also had his suit on and was ready to take action, "We have to stop the cars from falling," he said before he jumped down.

While Peter stopped the cars from slamming into the water below, I was on lizard duty. I swung in, kicking the lizard as hard as I could. The thing was uglier up close.

Unfortunately, my kick was hardly enough to stop the lizard and it spun around to punch or claw me. I was able to move out of the way in time, and stop its fist with a web, but its gigantic tail slammed me into one of the concrete barriers of the bridge.

I was about to get back up and go for the lizard when someone yelled, "Help me! My kid is trapped!"

I saw Peter holding the car from slipping with all of his strength, so I gave him a nod and jumped down onto the vehicle.

I heard the kid yelling for help, so I held out my hand, "Hey, look, it's okay I got you,"

Being scared of me, the kid only cried harder, so I pulled off my mask in an attempt to calm him down, "Buddy, you're all right, here- you can hold onto my mask."

I saw his name tag and climbed into the car, "Let's get you out of here, Jack,"

I unbuckled his seatbelt and held onto me but suddenly the car was lit up with flames. I looked up at Peter who was stand he yelled, "Hurry, C!"

The car dropped and I lost my hold of Jack as I tried to keep it from plunging into the water, "Shit, shit, shit, you need to climb now Jack!"

Not sure how much longer I could hold onto the car, I told Jack to hurry, and he finally reached my arm. I grabbed hold of him, but as the car fell, I couldn't keep a grip on the web, and we began to freefall.

I felt a web hit me and looked up to see Peter with a relieved expression. I was able to swing us back onto the bridge as Jack slipped my mask back on my face.

Bringing Jack back to his father, I was glad to see that everyone was safe.

"Oh god, My son! Who are you?" the man asked.

"Spider-man and Widow."

The next day at school, I sat with Peter and Gwen on the school bleachers.
