Chapter 2- The Ceremony

I quickly finish my chores at home and get my four younger siblings and I ready to go to Antonio's gift ceremony. 

When it's time I say goodbye to my mamȧ before the five of us start the short walk to La Casita Madrigal, as we got closer to the door I saw Camilo greeting all the guests as they came up to the door. 

" There's your boyfriend" Hugo the oldest of my four siblings said as he bumped his shoulder against mine. "He's not my boyfriend Tonto," I say blushing slightly. "Not yet," Hugo says. Hugo is one year younger than me and helps with the other kids since our mom can't really. She is sick and can barely walk. 

Camilo says hi to my youngest sibling. My little sister Casta, her twin brother Daniel who is 5 our 10-year-old siblings Azul and Hugo in that order. Shifting into them and making them laugh. When he got to me he shifted into a mirror image of me. 

Sticking his tongue out at me. To which I chuckled before he turned back into himself before taking my hand and kissing it softly. I blushed and walked into the house where the younger siblings were playing with the other village kids. Hugo watching me walk into la casa Madrigal. He gave me a look that said 

"not your boyfriend who?" I huffed and pushed him aside. "Shut up," I said as I went to the kitchen to see if Julieta needed help with anything. " Senora, are you here?" I asked. I walked over and found her sitting against the counter waiting for some Arepas to be done cooking. 

"Y/N! What are you doing here, shouldn't you be out socializing?" she asked, walking and giving a warm hug. "I would rather be in here helping my favorite Madrigal," I say smiling. I hear a hurt noise and turn around to see Camilo standing in the doorway. 

"Favorite, I am offended," he said, holding one hand to his chest. The other put against his forehead all dramatic-like. Julieta chuckled. " What is it Camilo?" she asked turning to take the Arepas off the stove. " Mamȧ said to come and tell you the ceremony was starting soon and to stop hiding in the kitchen," Camilo said. I laughed before starting to walk out of the kitchen. "Oh wait Julieta do you need me to take any of those out to the guests?" I asked, pointing to the plates of food sitting on the counter. 

Julieta's eyes light up "oh yes please, Camilo help her won't you?" She says as I walk over and pick up a plate of food. Camilo groans but walks over and picks up a plate as well. "Thank you so much Ninos y Ninas," she says as we walk out to the table already full of food. I put the plate down and then start to walk away to try and find my siblings. 

But someone grabbed my wrist. I turned and saw Camilo. "Come and stand with me," He says nodding over to where most of his Familia is standing minus Pepa and Felix who are waiting by Antonios soon to be door. "I should really go find my Familia," I say and continue looking around for the familiar faces of my hermanos. 

"I'm sure they'll be fine, come on." Camilo says pulling me over to Dolores and his miembros de la familia. "Ugh, fine," I say. Camilo Smiles widely as we stand next to Julieta and the other Madrigals. Alma started talking about the miracle and everything and then the curtains pulled back to show a very nervous-looking Antonio. 

He reaches out looking at someone behind the wall. After a few seconds and Antonio whispering something, Mirabel steps out and takes Antonio's hand. The crowd gasped as Mirabel whispers something to Antonio and they start walking down the aisle Casita made. 

The crowd visibly tenses when they reach the top of the stairs and Mirabel steps off to the side. Camilo reaches down and grabs my hand. I blush but don't look away from where Alma's Talking to Antonio. 

I squeeze Camilo's hand as Antonio grabs the doorknob and Tochan lands on his arm and Antonio starts to talk to it. I smile as I realize his gift. I turn my head to see hundreds of animals flying and running into the house. I hear Camilo laugh as he starts to pull me upstairs and into Antonio's new room. I stare in awe at the huge jungle, amazed at how much magic can be fit into the large room. 

Antonio runs around his new, very large room with all his animals before coming back. I step away while Camilo is distracted and find Hugo and the others. "Don't" I say before Hugo can even say anything
