The Mysterious Murder

"It's a very big and not blown up L'Manberg"

Makoto Naegi POV 

Something's happened to someone.

"Is it? Was it?" I mumbled as thoughts ran through my head. "No it can't be. There's no way someone would, but what if?" I thought frightened and lost.  "No, what if"s are pointless, especially now, when-".

"The dining hall" I yelled to myself. "I need to get to the dining hall" I said as ran out of bed, running to the Dining hall.

When I arrived 5 of my classmates were there Aoi, Sakura, Yasuhiro, Wilbur, Byakuya. 

"Ah, Makoto" Aoi said concerned. 

"Are you okay" Hiro asked.  

"Did Monokuma talk to you too?" Sakura asked as well.

"Hiro, Aoi, Wilbur, Sakura and Byakuya" I said softly with stress in my voice as I put my hands in my pocket.  "You're the only ones here? Where is everyone else?" I asked everyone. 

"Either they're already off trying to verify what Monokuma said" Byakuya began. "Or they've fallen victim to something that Monokuma mentioned."

"The something?" I asked Byakuya. 

"It can't be, has it happened again? A murder" Sakura said sounding worried.  Completely forgetting someone was here Wilbur spoke. 

"Sorry I blacked out. What are we talking about?" He said with curiosity. 

"Did someone forget to tell him" Hiro said to everyone looking in their eyes.

"No, after he walked out, no really had anything to say" Sakura said looking at Wilbur. 

"Forget to tell him what?" Wilbur said dumbfounded. "Ooooh! You guys are talking about the killing game. Trust me, I had my scare earlier. It was not fun" He said with a bright smile. 

After a while we went back to our dabate. 

"So if something really did happen. Does that mean someone did it 'cause of what happened yesterday" Hiro began. 

"It can't be! That stuff was just a bunch of old memories!" Aoi said with panic.

"Just old memories? Don't be so sure about that" Byakuya said. "Clearly someone felt it was more important than that".

"Huh?" I blurted.

"To jugue someone else's values based on your own outlook. Do you realise how dangerous that is?" Byakuya asked condescendingly. 

"What? Why didn't you say something yesterday!?" Aoi yelled. 

"Did you already forget? This isn't a co-op game. It's every man for himself" Byakuya chuckled.  "What good does it do me to go out my way to help you?".

"He's right. That's how this game works. No can trust each other. " Wilbur mumbled admittedly. 

"Stop saying that already" Aoi yelled again. 

"There's something wrong with him, for serious" Hiro said looking at Wilbur pointing to Byakuya. "Did he get brainwashed or something" Hiro said gesturing to everyone else.

"That's not important." Sakura said crossing her arms. "What matters right now is that that we find out what happened".

"She's right. Let's all split up and begin looking" Byakuya said. "The game is afoot". 

As everyone left the gym, Wilbur and I went up stairs to the second floor checking the room. 

"How many times has someone died in here." Wilbur asked. 

"Um well, three have died. First there was a fight between a student and Monokuma and she ended up dead. The was a motive kill do to the game. I-it was an accident. Both the killer and the victim ended up dead." I responded, my voice cracking. 

"Sorry, I didn't mean to go there." He said scratching the back of his neck.

"No it's okay. We have to get used to this." I said rubbing my eyes. 

After looking through most of the rooms we walked into a pool room. 


Wilbur POV                                                                                                                                                                                                       
Naegi and I walked into a light green room with pool equipment. In front of us were to doors, one pink and one blue. By first guess the blue was for males and the pink for females. I looked over to Naegi who walked toward the blue door and pulled on the door hinge. He looked confused for a second before stopping in his trance to hear the Monokuma Announcement.


"For this investigation, I have unlocked the doors. Please look around to your heart's content!" Monokuma said. 

"Investigation?" Naegi said somewhat panicked. He seemed to be the flight type more than fight.                                                                                                                                                         

"Just as I thought" a voice said. 

"Byakuya!" Naegi screamed. 
 
"Judging from what he just said, there can be no doubt a murder really has taken place" Byakuya said. 

"Come on-" Naegi whined. 

"And the locker rooms, they're suspicious. Very suspicious, indeed. Wouldn't you agree?" Byakuya said. I gave him a nod.

"Huh? Suspicious?" Naegi stuttered. 

"It seems nobody's searched the locker rooms. Let's start with the girls locker room" Byakuya muttered. 

Without waiting for a reply, he pressed his hand against the girls locker room door and the door swung open without a sound. 

Makoto Naegi POV

In that moment, time seemed to freeze. 

"W-what" I said slowly reacting to what I was looking at. There was Chihiro tied up with a rope from around her neck to her wrists tied two black metal poles. Blood was running down from her forehead all the way down to her legs. Behind her written the words 'BLOOD LUST'. 

"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH" A wild, almost primeval scream escaped from my mouth. I tried to suppress my screaming, but it was useless. It surged out of me, like water from a spring gushing out of the ground. Byakuya on the other hand...

"Most unusual, don't you think?" He said looking at Wilbur and I. I almost forget he was here, he's so quiet. But Byakuya was totally calm. Almost like he was watching this all unfold in front of a TV screen. 

"Look. Chihiro's corpse has been suspended somehow. And something's been written on the wall, in blood." He said observing what he saw. "BLOOD LUST?". "Such a brutal way to kill someone. No, this is beyond brutal." Byakuya said looking at us.

Wilbur's expression could not be seen due to his hair covering his face but he did seem shaken.

"Wouldn't you agree?" Byakuya said looking up a the dead body. 

"They killed her. How could it not be brutal?" I said looking up a Byakuya. 

"No, that's not my point. This murder is far too bizarre for any everyday amateur to have committed it" He said smirking. 

"W-what do you mean" Wilbur said shakily.  

"Unlike with Sayaka, this murder was not a crime of passion or necessity. It's almost as if whoever did this did it for fun. You see what I mean, don't you?" He said. 

"What" My head was swimming. I was still reel, too confused to understand what he was trying to say. And before I could begin to clear my head..

"Hey, I heard screaming! Did something-?" Kiyo rushed into the room just to be stopped by his own screams. "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHH! C-chihiro!?" He said shocked. As soon as he came in the room a familiar tune played. 

"A body has been discovered!" Monokuma said loudly and proudly. "After a certain amount of time, which you may use however you like, the class trial will begin!". 

"What the hell was that?" I said freaked out. 

"Ah, that's right. you were unconscious during Sayaka's, so you don't know about it." Byakuya said. "What you just heard was the body discovery announcement. Apparently when three or more people discover a body, an announcement play to let everyone know." he said. "Weird how it didn't ring until know" Byakuya muttered while looking at Wilbur. "I imagine it's so that the search for the culprit can proceed fairly for everyone involved." He said back in his normal tone. 

"Proceed Fairly" I thought. 

"The body discovery announcement!? Then Chihiro really is?" Kiyotaka said fearful. 

"Dead, yes" Byakuya said coldly. "Before you start screaming your head off, go round everyone up. It seems another game has begun" He said rolling his eyes.




 "Another life or death game to uncover a killer".
