I sat in the car on my phone peeking at all my medias, then suddenly we stopped.
Confused, I looked up.

"We're here." My mom said putting the car on park.

"I'll go knock."
I exited the car and walked up the path that led to his front door. Suddenly my heart started beating faster, I didn't know why.
I knocked on the door, and my heart was nearly pumping out my chest. Why was I so nervous?

I heard footsteps walking towards the door, I lightly gulped and smiled.

The door opened and Thomas's mom stood there, "oh hello!" She said pulling me into a hug. "I haven't seen you in quite a while..! How's it been?"

"Wonderful, how about you?"

"Oh, same here darling. Thomas should be out in a bit. Feel free to go look for him." She walked past me and probably went to go talk to my mom.
I smiled and walked inside the cozy house.
Immediately I saw Thomas walking out from the hallway, "oh hey! I hope I didn't keep you waiting."

"You're good. We actually just got here, but hey! Look at you, you look nice!" I said elbowing him lightly. He covered his mouth and chuckled.

"You look good too Rae. And I can't wait to meet your dad! I'm sure he's as cool as you!"

I glanced at him and giggled, "alright alright, come on." I started walking to the car as he followed my lead.

"Oh, hello! Thanks for the ride." He said to my mom as he entered the car.

"Oh, no problem honey. You know, I really enjoy you being around my daughter. Other boys are just needy, but you're special!"

"Oh come on mom, you sound like an old lady." I said as I hopped in the passenger seat.

"I mean she is right, there's a kid at our school who's all for show. He's.. definitely something.-"

"A jerk might be one.." I said scoffing, as I recognized who Thomas was talking about, I buckled myself in and rolled my eyes.

"Really? Is he a pain in the ass?"

"Oh yeah!" I exclaimed, "he likes to pick on Thomas too."

"What? You don't stand up for yourself?"

"Um, I did, only once though.. From then on he hasn't really bothered me. Not as much as he used to though."

"What an ass!"

"I know right? Not even Thomas thinks he's a fucking prick."

"Well, everyone deserves a second chance, right?" He said scratching the back of his neck.

"Darling, people like him eat up their second chances. They'll only stop if you make them stop."

"I've always wanted to see you fight someone." I said as a joke. I laughed and Thomas joined me briefly chuckling.
"huh.." he said gazing into the back of the seat that sat in front of him, before he could fall deeper into his thoughts he cleared his throat and pulled out his phone.

I too grabbed my phone, though I didn't really do anything because my mind was thinking of different things. Like Thomas meeting my dad, for some reason the thought just brought happiness and excitement to me. I couldn't help but just smile.
My mom curiously glared at me, probably wondering why I was so giddy. But she just ignored me and continued driving.
I looked down at my phone and came across an unread message Thomas previously sent.
