Months had passed since the Junior Goodwill games, the medal they each received hung on a stand next to Eurydice's bookshelf in her room.

It was supposed to be up for display but eventually it's job became to collect dust.

Eurydice was still doing hockey but it didn't seem as fun as it once was.

She wasn't loosing her love for the sport but the flaws in her hockey life just seemed more prominent than she once remembered.

Her teammates defying her orders annoyed her much more, the gruelling hours of training started to take a toll on her, Luis was no longer there to lift the burden.

They would joke around during practice which made it much more tolerable, now the only time the communicated was because of hockey.

They were captain and co captain they had to but outside of hockey, they didn't even greet each other when passing each other in the hallway.

Eurydice made a few new friends of course but they didn't even compare to Luis.

The bond they had during and outside of hockey was unmatched by anyone she knew and now they were strangers.

Home life was fine, not much had changed, her mother was still her mother.

Tried to make Eurydice break up with Dean for a while but eventually gave up, not because she accepted it.

Elton theorised that it was because their mom thought they'd break up soon enough due to long distance.

Dean and Eurydice were doing fine, better than fine actually.

Everyday she felt as if her life had become monotonous and boring but the one time she felt truly alive was when she was on the phone with Dean.

They had gotten in a serious relationship within the span of a few weeks, sure they knew each other, their likes and dislikes but they didn't really have a history.

Eurydice didn't know much about his life back in Chicago and Dean didn't know much about Eurydice's life in Miami. It didn't really bother them much, they learned more about each other everyday and Eurydice didn't want to stop learning.

Dean was more than just some of his parts, when she looked at him was a whole, Dean was so much more than others would give him credit for.

They'd talk and talk for hours on end until two in the morning, their time difference was only and hour which Eurydice was very much thankful for.

After dinner, Eurydice would go up to her room and try to do her homework but her excitement would distract her.

Her favourite hour was 10pm, Dean would call her at 10pm on the dot and Eurydice looked forward to it everyday.

When her phone rang, it was like music to her ears.

"Hey Dean."

"Hey babe."

Eurydice didn't like 'babe' but whenever she would bring up how cringey it was to her, Dean would just use it more.

"How's your day been?" Eurydice asked.

Dean groaned, "Horrible, never hated homework more."

Eurydice shook her head, "You say that everyday, we'll be high schoolers soon you need to start taking school more seriously."

"Not unless you make me." He teased, Dean knew how teasing made Eurydice cringe and want to gag.

It was partially why he did it.

"Oh I will." Eurydice hummed, surprising Dean.

Dean felt himself sit up straighter, "Really?"

Eurydice scoffed at his eagerness, "Yeah, I'll fly to Chicago and force you to study myself. Keep it in your pants dumbass."

Dean laughed at Eurydice's reaction, making her start to laugh along with him.

"What do you think of high school?" Dean questioned.

Although he seemed like it didn't bother him, Dean was deeply frightful of high school, he knew he wasn't ready for high school, academically and emotionally.

"Scared but still excited, I miss you though. I'd like it if we would go together. I miss the Ducks too." Eurydice sighed.

Eurydice had Julie and Fulton's numbers and they'd talk every now and than but as for the rest of the Ducks, the letters they'd send each other eventually got lesser and lesser.

Dean agreed, "I miss them too, Fulton and I would rule high school."

Eurydice giggled softly, "Ah yes, the two of you would be so so popular how would the rest of us ever compare."

"Hey! I promised I'd never forget you and I intend to keep that promise." Dean defended.

"Really?" Eurydice asked.

Dean laughed, "Of course, I'd never let myself forget about you."

Eurydice couldn't help but blush, even after all these months he still had that affect on her, "I don't know how I managed to have you as a boyfriend."

"In a good way?"

"Definitely, the best way possible."

Dean sighed, "You deserve so much Eurydice, I don't think I'll ever be able to give you all of it."

Eurydice disagreed, "You have given me what I want, happiness. That's more than enough for me. I don't need amazing grades or piles of money, you are more than enough for me."

Dean felt his chest tighten slightly, Eurydice still had that affect on him after all these months.

"Thanks hon."

Eurydice shrugged, "I like to compliment you, no big deal."

"Of course you do, look at me."

The two teens broke out in laughter, Eurydice loved these moments with all her heart. They were just enjoying each other's company and she felt so whole.

Their laughter was cut short by Eurydice's door barging open.

"Hey sis have you seen my- " Elton questioned before he realised that he had walked into Eurydice on the phone.

Elton smirked at his sister, "Forget I'm here I just need to find my headphones, continue flirting with loverboy."

Eurydice huffed, "No absolutely not you are not eavesdropping get out."

The boy went up to Eurydice and flicked her nose before he dashed out of her room, not closing the door before he left.

"Oh my god Elton is so dead" Eurydice muttered.

Eurydice could hear Dean laugh his ass off one the opposite line.

"It's not funny Dean!"

"Seems pretty funny to me."

(A/N it feels really good to be back to this story, I really miss writing Eurydice and Elton and I really missed Eurydice and Dean's relationship like they hate and love each other in a healthy way lmao)
