Julie was slumped over Eurydice's bed, clutching onto a teddy bear she managed to sneak into Eden Hall. Both Fulton and Kenny were eagerly hugging onto opposite ends of a bolster pillow, looking up at Eurydice who was pacing around the dorm.
"I don't know, I mean we didn't leave it at the best of terms." Eurydice sighed, biting her nails and playing with her hair.
"You will never get anywhere if neither of you do anything." Julie reasoned, she handed Eurydice the phone and gestured for her to start typing.
Eurydice was apprehensive all day but maybe Elton was right, they just had to talk.
Every soft beep that came out of the machine with each number being pressed sounded started to sound like nails scratching a chalk board, it made Eurydice cringe and squirm, she wanted nothing but for it to end.
With every second of radio silence that was between Dean picking up his phone and her typing in the last number, Eurydice's heart seemed to have beat faster.
She didn't know if she wanted Dean to pick up or not, the thought of Dean picking up made Eurydice want to dig up a hole and crawl into it, never to be seen again but if he didn't pick up, that would mean he was mad at her for what she said.
"Hello?"
It was his voice.
"Hey Dean."
Again silence on the other line.
"Why are you calling?" Dean said, it was almost a whisper, his voice sounding incredibly tired.
Eurydice didn't really know herself. Why did she call, she knew they had to talk but what about?
"Wanted to talk I guess. Hear you out."
Julie gave Eurydice a thumbs up and encouraged her to keep going.
Dean mumbled, "I did explain all I needed to say. I did something that I regret. I left you and I'm sorry."
"Anything else?" Eurydice asked.
"I shouldn't have, it was a dick move and I should have told you that I wasn't going and I shouldn't have lied to you. I should have called you and I should have had more faith in us. Please forgive me Eurydice. I messed up really bad but I've felt like shit since we started this fight or whatever the hell this is and I just really want you back." Dean rambled, Eurydice could even hear him trying to catch his breath after he finished his rant.
Eurydice giggled, "You know I won't forgive you the next time you ignore me for three months right?"
She could hear Dean let out a sigh of relief, "I miss you too babe."
Julie, Fulton and Kenny let out soft cheers and five fives her, congratulating Eurydice for saving her relationship.
"So I have a game tomorrow and you can listen to it over the radio..."
Dean chuckled, "I'll tune in. Just know I'll be cheering my ass off for you from my bed."
The two said a few more sweet words to each other and said their goodbyes, when Eurydice put down the phone, she faced her three friends with a smile that hurt her cheeks.
"We're good!" Eurydice exclaimed, she fell onto her bed, subsequently squashing the three of them beneath her.
Fulton cried out in pain, "Ouch! What the hell dude!"
Eurydice glared, "My moment, don't ruin this."
Julie looked at her and forced Eurydice to look her dead in the eyes, "Look Eurydice, remember, you can forgive him but never forget."
Kenny scoffed, "Oh please it's Portman, he makes bad decisions a the time. She's happy now let her be happy."
"Thank you Kenny. Anyways, I haven't forgotten everything. I'll only actually forgive him when he starts to commit again."
He committed for a month or so when she was back in Miami. Dean cared about her, of course he does.

Eurydice and Julie sprinted out of their dorm, their duffel bags hitting the walls and railings of the Eden Hall dorm rooms. The two girls rushed to the bus stop in front of their school, hockey stick in one hand and their nerves in another.
It wasn't their first game with their team but it was their first game without three members, a new coach and under a new name.
Charlie had been distant lately, he didn't really talk to the team as much as he used to, however Julie spotted him talking to a 'really dreamy girl' a few days ago. He seemed to have been adjusting to high school life relatively well.
Well enough without Bombay at least, Charlie never shut up about him and how much he was either mad at Orion or mad at Bombay. He stopped talking about hockey plays with them only did nothing but complain throughout recent team meetings.
Despite their captains lack of focus, Eurydice had a good feeling about this game. They had trained hard and worked hard, spending countless hours doing drills and practicing what coach Orion liked to call two way hockey. They weren't amazing at it but they were pretty good.
Julie and Eurydice saw that most of the team including their coach were waiting for the bus to arrive to take them to the rink, the chatter amongst the team was lively, their was a nervousness in the air but it was a positive energy nonetheless.
"We're going to kick ass today, stop worrying to much Connie." Eurydice comforted.
Connie was the most nervous of the team, unsure how they were going to perform with Charlie's attitude lately.
Julie added, "He's just getting used to Orion's ways that's all. He still loves hockey and this team, besides it's alright that we don't have Banks anymore, it's not like we're playing against him."
Connie sighed, a smile gracing her face once more.
"Bus is here let's go!" Charlie boomed, the team excitedly streamed onto the bus, speculating what a high school level hockey game was going to look like.
