I picked up my cellphone recognizing the number. "Yes?"
"Kris. They'll be there at the Ambassador office tomorrow. I dont know if they are going to come undercover an attempt to gather evidence or if they will decided to make who they are know and question him." He said.
"What does leader want me to do? Should I allow them access?"
"If they are undercover don't allow them if they're not you won't be able to stop them without seeming suspicious."
He was write. Everything in this operation had been going wrong since Tao dropped the information after running into that girl. Nothing was going right. We seemed to have walked into bad luck.
"The meeting for tomorrow afternoon still on?"
"Yea."
He hung up the phone.
I sat back in my chair and sighed. Sometimes I wondered what I was doing with my life, how I got involved in all of this. But there was no way out once you were in. Lay must have decided he didn't want in anymore , which is why he disappeared but it was only a matter of time before he was found and killed for leaving us.
Leader would send his killer after him, he had no mercy. He killed seeming like he had no conscious. Yeah I had killed. But I have nightmares about what I've done. I doubt this guy did. Even just now talking to him on the phone his voice was so cold and untouchable.
But tomorrow I would have to deal with these girls, these elite investigators. I know leader was afraid of them unraveling everything before it was time. Everyone had to be on their guard and make no mistakes, or they would pay.
