I looked at Kris who was arming himself with multiple guns. I wanted to tell him not to come, to stay away. He was already injured helping me once tonight. But I knew he wouldn't.There was no way he would let me face this alone.
I strapped my own guns to my body and took a deep breath. I was hoping that tonight would be the start of the rest of my life, that I could finally be free. The only thing I feared was the price I would have to pay for this freedom.
