(I couldn't find a picture of Dan holding a puppy so imagine that lion cub is a puppy ahaha)
Scarlett's POV
"Come on Matty, eat up." I insisted, Matty was refusing to eat and I after twenty minutes I only got him to eat one spoon. After that unsuccessful attempt to feed Matty, my hand started to ache bad.
I sighed and gave up entirely, I called Dan over in hope he could feed him.
_"Here comes the airplane!" Dan cooed, Matty smiled and ate his food.
"Wait-what?! How the hell?" I exclaimed.
"Magic" Dan smirked. I chuckled and rolled my eyes at his stupid response, god I love this idiot too much.
"Ill be right back Im just going to pop down to the shows to get some more baby food." I told Dan, I kissed Dan on the cheek and headed out the door. He looked down and kissed me back, he had one of the puppies in his hand obstructing us from actually kissing. I chuckled and went out the door.
_
I've got to admit, it was pretty cold today and I totally regret not wearing anything under my sweatshirt-but hey, you've got to admit, its comfortable as fuck.
I crossed the road to see a very familiar looking face. I looked them straight in the eye, their eyes were a familiar shade of hazel. Iv-no you're gone, I shook my head to make the hallucination go away, slowly regretting waking up early.
He was still there, he looked me straight in the eye. He seemed to get closer and closer each second I blinked.
This was the second time I've seen him, well not exactly him but a hallucination. None of this was real, he's not real, this is all just a dream. I will wake up in my own bed next to Dan. I pinched myself to check if all this was real.
He didn't seem to go away, I stood there shocked, the thing was a few metres away from me. His face, his eyes, his hair, him, this seemed so real but also it didn't. The people who were walking behind me pushed past me, leaving me standing the middle of the footpath staring at someon-something that's nonexistent.
A huge crowd of people walked right by me, I lost sight of him as I was dragged forward by the crowd. I scanned around to see no traces of him.
-
"Im back!" I chirped as I set down the bag of groceries.
"You were gone for a bit." Dan said.
"I walked."
"Explains everything, you look really cold." he chuckled. He put his hand around me and rubbed my arm in attempt to make me somewhat warmer. Dan's presence was all I need right now, after seeing him for the second time was probably a sign that I might be losing my mind. I frowned at the thought. Maybe I was losing my mind, because, hell, I know for a fact that he isn't here anymore. He's dead. As harsh as those words seem, they are as true as they get.
I sat down on the couch with Dan, the tv volume was at its lowest, it's not mute but you could barely hear anything.
What did it mean? Why was he there? Was it real? No, it can't be. At that exact moment I felt my eyes start to get glossy, great. "Are you okay?" Dan said, filling the silence we were sitting in.
I found myself on Dan's lap absentmindedly staring at the ceiling for the past I dont know, fifteen minutes. He had his face hovering above mine, I wiped away the tear that was rolling down my cheek.
"Oh shit, yeah sorry. I just zoned out for a bit." I told him.
I sat up, he looked at me, Im pretty sure he's not at all convinced with my answer. Why does he have to know me so well.
"Nothing's wrong Dan, I swear. I was just...overthinking." I sighed, I put on a convincing smile just so he wouldn't make such a big deal out of it.
