Scarlett
I fell asleep and woke up next to Ivan everyday for the past 3 days. My hair was a mess, my back aches, my shirt had tear stains, the circles under my eyes were getting worse.
I had called up Kyle,
"Hey Scar what's up?" *Woody is jamming out on the drums in the background* "Shut up Woody" Kyle's scowls. I heard Dan in the background on the keys.
"Can you come to the hospital?" I muttered.
Kyle went silent, I heard the rattling of keys and the car engine roaring.
He ended the call and proceeded to drive to the hospital. I laid my head upon the sheets and quietly sobbed.
What did he do to deserve this? He was the most generous, kindest man on earth. He doesn't deserve this, I'm the one who deserves it, not Ivan.
The doors of the room opened. Kyle was stood under the door frame awkwardly. I ran up to him and latched onto him. He picked me up and carried me over to the chair.
"Mrs Peters?" A voice called out.
I rubbed my eyes and saw a doctor in front of me. He gestured me to follow him.
We sat in a little office, the doctor hands me a glass of water.
"Mrs Peters, your husbands tumor is getting worse. I don't know how long he has but that doesn't matter. You're lucky he has survived this far.
Good luck Mrs. Peters."The news he told me was slightly uplifting. Kyle was looking through the glass, staring at Ivan. As soon as he saw me he hugged me, we continued to watch Ivan.
His eyes opened, I swear they did. He sat up and frantically searched his surroundings, out eyes met. I barged through the door and kissed him.
"Scar, I'm so sorry."
"Don't be sorry, this isn't your fault."
"Don't leave me" I murmured into his chest. I could see a mixture of pain and fear in his eyes.
I sat up and wiped my tears as soon as the nurses came in with his tray of food [which honestly looked like someone shit on a tray and cooked it.]
I went snuck out to the cafeteria to get better food for him, but as I leave his side I instantly feel sick and nauseous.
I headed into the bathroom and vomit once again. Thats when I think to myself, when did I have my last period?
I opened my phone up and looked at the calender. It was one and a half months ago. I don't know what to do.
I quickly go down to the pharmacy, and got a few boxes of pregnancy tests, I set them down on the counter,
"Good luck!" The lady behind the cash register says in a chirpy manner. I did nothing but put on a fake smile.
I told Kyle I would be heading home for a bit to get clothes for Ivan.
I drove down town and got to our apartment. I went into the bathroom and opened one of the tests.
It said positive, I didn't trust it so I decided to do 3 tests.
Negative, yes.
Positive, oh god, please no.
The fact that I'm pregnant was good but who is the father?
