My nose pointed out almost like that of a hunting dog. When my mouth was foaming a bit and I had become damp with sweat, I Arched my neck low and sniffed at the wind. The birds were silent in the night. Every thing was eliminated into a pale white under the strong moon.

I couldn't catch a scent of my herd, I must of gone far, nearly out of my lands. I could catch a light whiff of horse, but of the type I just couldn’t put my hoof on. It was unnatural, it didn't belong in tthis scrub.

I walked forwards neck out stretched and I was quivering with excitement, my eyes flashed around tensely, and suddenly I heard a shrill neigh of panic! Kara!

I brought my head in and started the wild gallop; I neighed back to her hoping to calm her or even me.

I didn't know why I was so nervous but some thing was wrong.

I could smell it through my flaring nostrils, hear it in the to silent night.

I reared my hooves flailing, but my hooves didn’t touch the ground when I tried to land instead I was pulled back by something around my neck.  I fought and I was free, that’s how it always should be.

It wasn’t about to change here.

I swung my head round to reveal the horrible sight before me….

Man.

I Was still falling back at a rappid speed before i jumped down with all my body weight, trying to make the man let go of the rope around my neck, I wanted to scream at him, let me go.

But of course he wouldn’t under stand so I guess id have to make him.

I bared my teeth and with a kick of my hooves I charged foward again, this time the man let go and all i could think was, Help!

I galloped again but this time feeling my feet touch the ground was a great feeling. I threw my head up again, until I reached a fence, I stopped. They had followed me, I was cornered.

I bared my teeth, looking around looking this way and that, protecting myself, every glance looking for a way to escape. and then I saw Kara my dear Kara, but The strong wood of the oail fence wqasa blocking us.

Well I guess that’s where I got to be. I slammed my body against the way-to-high-to-jump fence. It hurt a lot, but Kara had to be free.

I closed my eyes in time for the impact. it was like a thousand tons being carlessly tossed onto me.

Kara ran as I lay on the ground in pain, she neighed to me,

“Go!” I commanded in my loudest neigh. “Go!”

Then I felt some thing around my neck, no. I turned and chased it away oh no they were after Kara, I tried to run to stop them, but they put a rope around me neck, as well as hers and dragged us in opposite directions.

She was so young so venerable. I neighed to her, her eyes showing the whites of her eyes so clearly, so sadly her muzzle opened to neigh but nothing came out.

She let herself be dragged away, as well as I.

I wasn’t only sad about Kara, I was sad about the herd about the nature that surrounded me, because I knew where I was going else, some place scary, the night mare of all wild horses.

I was sad about my freedom that I took for granted.

They can take my herd, my forest, my Kara but they can’t take my spirit.

I threw my head up and powered in the opposite way.
