Chapter 6 - What's the Plan

Bonnie POV 2/6 1:00pm-2:00pm

Tick, tock. The clock continues to count as Shane continues talking. The sage remains burning on the table so that Elena doesn’t know what we’re saying, but I’m not even sure if I know. My ears are hearing what he’s telling me, but my mind is not registering what it means.

      “Bonnie, that sacrifice was tied to you. Klaus killed those 12 hybrids after I gave you the necklace. There’s nothing more you need to do, the door has already been opened. You have access to this kind of magic. Eventually you will need to raise Silas, but not just yet.” Professor Shane continues on to tell me about the prophecy and such while I formulate questions in my mind.

      “Wait, then how can I bring back Damon?” I interrupt him and he seems to ponder my question, mulling it over on his mind. My voice gets softer, “I can’t stand to see Elena like this, pretending not to care. I know she’s still hurting and she’s acting out.” He takes a deep breath and grabs my hand soothingly.

      “There is one thing you can do. Damon was killed by a Hunter of the Five, right?” I nod and he continues, “There is a sword. One used by one of the Five. It is said to lead you to Silas’ tomb, but I already know where that is. If you can get that sword and destroy it in a ritual, then it is said that ‘If the sword of purpose is destroyed with body of one of the slain monsters, then life shall reborn in flames.’”

I think about all he is saying and try to formulate a plan in my mind. “Are you sure this would work? Prophecies aren’t very reliable. Besides, if vampires are considered monsters, why would they make it possible to bring one back? And how would we even get the sword, Klaus is very protective of it.” Shane shrugs and tries to think of an explanation.

      “Well, Bonnie, we’ll have to find a way to get it. And if this does work, which I believe that it will, there would be certain… consequences.” My face falls as I hear the dreaded word consequences. “But for Damon, not for you.” My face must exhibit a sense of confusion because he laughs.

      “What kind of consequences?” I inquire in all seriousness.

      “Well a vampire is an abomination of nature, it could not be resurrected. So if we were to bring back Damon, there is a chance he may be human.”
