Chapter 8

Rebekah's POV
I took a deep breath as I made my way to the Cullen's table. They all seem to stiffen at my presence but Jasper's glare and Emmett's large smile made them loosen up a bit.

"Hello, Emmett and Jasper invited me," I tell them as the blonde girl Rosalie scoffed.

"I don't see why you don't belong with us,"

"Rosalie," Jasper says once he saw me looking down  a Bit upset.

A feeling of happiness washed over me as I looked over at Jasper and smiled.

"Hey ignore Rosalie, she's like that with everyone. Thinks everyone is beneath her," Emmett says bumping me on my shoulder.

"That's right. Your right. It's no big deal,"

"You know, Rebekah your dad was yelling at mine I've never seen him so-"

"Angry and upset? Well Charlie is over protective, along with Bella she actually insisted I didn't come over here,"

"And she's right you really shouldn't have came over here. Nobody but Jasper even wants you here," Rosalie says before getting up from the table and leaving.

I put my head down in shame.

"Maybe I should just-"

"No come on you're fine Rebekah. Rosalie just doesn't like anyone outside our table to join us," Jasper cut in with a smile as I couldn't help but beam with happiness.

I have no idea whats up with my emotions around him.

"Okay, so what do you guys do for fun?" I ask causing Emmett to smirk.

"We love baseball,"

"Baseball?" I asked confused as Alice smiled.

"Its our favorite pass time. You should come over next weekend Rebekah, come play baseball with us," Alice offered as Jasper gave her a look of uncertainty.

"Yeah that sounds great actually. Thanks Alice,"

It was after school now and I seem to always be waiting on Bella to come out. I can't exactly get in the truck with her having the keys so I'm locked out. I noticed that Jasper was staring at me from across the lot again as I had my headphones in nodding to the beat of the music.

Although a sound of tires screeching caught my attention it was a black van coming after me as I yanked my headphones out of my ears. I was too stunned to move as it was one of Bella's friends Tyler who was spinning out of control looking straight at me in horror.

I screamed and crouched down as the car was coming closer. I held my hands on on my head as I was crouched down now. Not sure what this position would do but I was certainly welcoming death.

When none came I opened one eye to see a hand out on the Van as the force of it created a large dent to the car and it only hit the back of Bella's truck. I was shaking as I couldn't help but hold onto Jasper who was looking at me with such worry in his eyes.

I started sobbing as I didn't care how cold he was, I didn't care how fast he got to me. I'm just glad to be alive and well. He held onto me as sobs continue to wreck my body and everyone began to surround me asking if I'm okay.

"REBEKAH!" I heard Bella screech out in sheer panic as Jasper only held onto me tighter.

~HOSPITAL~

"Look here," Carlisle says pointing the lights into my eyes.

I did as told as Bella was holding onto my good hand.

"REBEKAH!" Dad yelled rushing in as he practically crushed me into a hug.

"Dad I'm okay really-"

"NO! YOU WERE ALMOST KILLED REBEKAH!"

"Rebekah I'm so sorry I couldn't stop," Tyler pleads from the next room.

"You shut up! You can kiss your license goodbye!" he yells before shutting the curtains closed.

"I wasn't though dad..... Jasper was there. He saved me,"

"Jasper?" He asked looking over at Carlisle.

"Your boy?"

Carlisle smiled.

"Yeah he is, I'm glad he was able to get you on time Rebekah,"

"I dont know how he did it but I'm just glad he did, If it wasn't for him I would probably be a pancake by now,"

Carlisle smiled at that.

"You might has post traumatic stress... maybe some nightmares as well, but other than that you should be fine,"

"Thank you,"

"She good to go?"

"Yeah,"

"Alright come on girls," Charlie says walking out as the two followed behind him.

"And Rebekah, I hope I won't be seeing you everyday here?" Carlisle asked causing me to giggle.

"I'll stay out of trouble," I tell him smiling.

Jasper's POV

"WHAT THE HELL JASPER?!" Rosalie whispered yelled as we were all centered at the hospital.

"I wasn't gonna let her die Rosalie she's my mate," I growled getting fed up with her.

"You put all of us in danger by doing that,"

"She's bound to find out eventually Rosalie, let it go for now,"

"I'm not letting this go,"

"Rosalie, that's enough," Carlisle said coming over to us.

"I understand what Jasper did was unthinkable, but he's right, she is his mate and will be apart of the family. He couldn't just let her die," he said as she rolled her eyes.

"Whatever if this whole thing implicates badly don't put the blame on me," Rosalie says walking away having Emmett follow her like a dog.
