apology pt. 2

There was a soft knock on your door. "Who is it?"
"It's your favorite person... Kaeya."
"Oh, brother." You said under your breath.
"Come in." You said sternly because of what happened between you earlier last week.
He came in with a bouquet of cecilias, your favorite flowers and a packed lunch of your favorite.
You folded your hands on your desk. "And what brings you here? I thought you were saying earlier of how you were tired of me."
"Ah, no. I didn't mean that, I just said that in the heat of the moment. I wouldn't be sick of you, sweetheart."
"You and your words." You lowered your eyes at him in annoyance.
"Come on, take a seat. I haven't had my favorite dish in a while anyways."
He grabbed a chair that was nearby your desk and sat on it across from you. He handed you your favorite flowers with a smile and placed the food he brought on your desk.
You placed the flowers on your desk and smelled the aroma of the food. "Delicious. You really know how to butter someone up."
He shrugged his shoulders with a smile.
"So you probably want to talk about what happened. What did you want to say?" You asked him while picking up the food with your fork.
"Well, first I would like to apologize for what I said. That wasn't fair to you and I realized it must've taken you some courage to tell me how you feel."
"Mhm." You said as you were eating.
"Also, I've been thinking of what you said over the past few days. I wanted to try to give us a chance."
"W-what?" You said, almost choking on your food.
"I think we can try to be a couple." He said, holding your hand, looking into your eyes.
"I never thought I would hear you saying that." You were holding in a laugh.
"What's so funny?" He tilted his head at you with his mouth in a straight line.
"I don't know. The way you said that so seriously."
"I can't believe you, I was trying to have a serious moment with you. What else was I supposed to say?" He laughed afterwards.
"Hmm, well I won't deny your hand." You smirked.
"Okay, good." He sighed out of relief. "I was worried I really messed up things between us."
"So does that mean you've liked me all this time since that childhood confession?" You asked him.
"Noo.. how was I supposed to know what love is at that age?"
"Don't deny it."
"Okay, maybe I did." He crossed his arms. "What about you then?"
"Hmm.. I always did like you, but I didn't realized I loved you until we were older as teens."
"Oh, I see." He smiled. "Say, we never shared our first kiss. Well, our first real kiss." He sighed.
"Oh, I remember that. You didn't even ask, just went straight for it." You laughed.
"Look, I was extremely nervous and just a kid that time. But this time, I'll ask for your permission. Will you kiss me?" He inched closer to your face with a smirk, making your face heat up.
"Um, suree-" He ended you mid-sentence with his lips against yours while he held your face in his hands gently. You kissed back, closing your eyes. After a few moments, he pulled away, leaving you a little breathless.
"Wow, you sure got better at kissing." You were too embarrassed to look at him in the face.
"Yeah, I mean it's been 9 years since then." He smiled.
"Yep, I um- just going to finish my food." You said nervously.
"Of course, take your time." He sat back on his chair.
You were eating your food in silence for some time and finished.
"Well, I'm done eating and finished with my work up here, so..."
"You want to take a walk around Monstadt? It can be our first official date together."
"Sure, why not?" He grabbed your hand and you both walked out of your office, holding hands.
Amber was walking by with a box in her hands. "Hello, Miss Y/N and Kaeya! I see you two-" She just noticed you were holding hands and gasped. "You're together?" She beamed.
"Um, we just.." Kaeya cut you off. "Yes, we're together." He smiled.
"Oh, I'm so happy for you both! I was wondering when it would happen. You guys seems to always be around each other."
"Ah, thank you Amber." You smiled.
"Yes, thank you Amber." He added.
You both walked away hands intertwined to go on your first date.
