The bag pressed into her side, for a cheap tote it was surprisingly strong. Shuffling it around she gave up, picking at her cuticles, messing with anything.
"Are you sure you're alright? You seem to be a tad jumpy" Kori sighed, "Is it me? Im not making you uncomfortable am i?".
She had to give it to them, she was quite polite given all the rumours going around recently.
"I dunno to be fair, i just didn't think you would want to walk with me" She turned to gaze into their not so scary eyes.
They raised an eyebrow. Mumbling under their breath with a smirk.
"What was that Koraline Taylors?" She exaggerated their name, rolling it around on the tip of her tongue.
"Ahh nothing Miss Clayton", They smiled at her, "Just to do with you creepily staring at me, out of the blue".
She chuckled, a laugh she hadn't used in a long time. The pavement felt like it caved in, although she just didn't look where she was going. Her hand searched for something to grab, Koralines was there and open and ready. The electricity bolting through her nerves and every small cell in her body.
"I gotcha" Kori smiled, pulling on their joined hands.
Sasha had never been more embarrassed, pulling her hand away, her face steaming up. "I am so sorry, i'm literally the clumsiest thing going" she laughed, trying to brush the moment away.
Koraline eyed her up, "No harm done, now i can say i'm a knight in shining armour".
Pause.
They both erupted into friendly calming laughter, Sasha clutching her sides, her ribs aching. Kori kept taking deep breaths.
Sasha wheezed, "Your fucking full of bullshit, Miss Taylors", wiping genuine tear from behind her glasses. She looked back to them,
Koraline tilted their head, reaching to position the glasses straight, their fingertips grazing softly on Sashas' cheeks. They tucked a strand of hair behind her ear, smiling down at her.
'God of course they're so fucking tall, shit. Keep the eye contact', her brain yelled.
"You're off-puttingly tall, what are you 6ft?" She groaned, "Being short is not fun, and stop smiling, you're being creepy".
Kori linked arms with her, "6'2" they gloated. Their face rested, Sasha didn't even realise she had been staring. "Call me the creep, hypocrite", they murmured.
"Shut the honest fuck up," She tugged on their arm, crossing the street slowly.
