"I love you too, newt" I heard through my dream-less sleep. I woke up with the sun shining through the window and Courtney's blonde hair spread over my bare chest. She was more beautiful asleep.

I gave her a light kiss on the forehead, she mumbled and rolled away from me. I decided it would be better to leave now. I grabbed my clothes which were all over the bloody place and got changed.

When I walked out of the house I saw Tommy in the far corner, sat newt to the new girl greenie. I decided I should leave the two shanks alone.

When I headed back to the glade, alot had changed people were running around and getting ready. I walked up to frypan and asked "what in the klunck is goin' on here?"
"Greenie said doors ain't gonna shut tonight, everyone's freaking the klunck out" he replied. Instant terror went through me.

She'll be attacked instantly, her home is near the entrance, I was just about to run when the rest of the boys huddled and trapped me in.

I spent most of the day, helping others getting ready for the fight, or to lounge around and do nothing all bloody day.

We were attacked every night and we had to stay in the huts most of the time.I had no chance to reach Courtney no matter what I did, I tried to sneak away from the shuckin' boys but I never could.

Whenever the grievers took someone I was afraid it was her, that she was murdered by one of the bloody grievers. But it turned out every night

Nightfall was coming quickly now and the doors weren't closing, most of us had come up with the plan to go in, fight the grievers and survive, just like Tommy had come up with.

Gally was so furious be tried to tie up Tommy and Teresa- I think her name was? I still wasn't sure. The gladers who wanted to survive attacked and broke Tommy and Teresa free from gally.

As I turned my head to hit another boy who seemed to be on gallys side, I was strucken when I found out who it really was.

Her blonde hair was now behind a rug looking hat on her head, her hair was no where to be seen. And her blue eyes had a certain sparkle to them. She gave me a mischievous smile.

"Surprise" she wispered, she looked more like a boy than anything now. I dropped my knife and looked stunned.

"Is he coming or not? You changed your mind shuck?" I said. She instantly knew what I was playin' at. "Yeah I'll come with ya' kluncks'" she spat, with a deeper tone than usual. She was playing her part very well.

We ran through the maze, wall after walls. we finally reached where we were meant to be. Teresa and Tommy jumped through the invisable hole, while the grievers ambushed us. We thought are way through them.

As I turned a griever launched itself on me, making my knife skid away from me. I was helpless, it's claw-tail bloody thing tried to get me. But I missed with every touch.

The grevier got it's metallic legs and pinned me down, one on my face and one on chest. Another two surrounding my arms, I couldn't move. It raised it claw as I closed my eyes. I couldn't bare the thought of leaving Courtney in the world alone. And that smile gone from her mouth. I shuckin love that girl, I always will.

Just then a loud thump hit next to me, I open my eyes, to see her beautiful face standing over me. She smiled "you owe me" she said.

All the grievers were on the floor, Some of the gladers body was lying limply on the floor as well. Tommy must of done it I thought with excitement.

I turned my head to face her, she was smiling at me.She grabbed my hand. The remaining shucks didn't realise what was going on and started heading down the invisable hole.

We were the last two left "it's okay I'll be right behind you" I said. She gave a weary smile, and jumped down the whole. Be brave I said to myself, and jumped down the whole.
