"Ha... ha..." I panted.
"...Well done." Yae said, uncrossing her arms. "Only took you a day of rest, huh."
It had taken me a few tries today to beat the Shogun training, so I was worn out. But... I'd finally managed to beat it.
I almost cried.
"I have one more small mission for you to do with the Raiden Shogun trainer." Yae said.
My face fell. "Yae-San, no. Please, no. Kindly, no." I pleaded.
She chuckled. "It is alright, Traveler. This will be significantly easier than before. Go ahead and turn it on."
When I turned it on, not only was I shot with a burst of electricity, but hilichurls spawned.
'Significantly easier,' my ass. At least I don't have to worry about my hit count.
I had only a minute to rid the area of hilichurls while being hit by the Shogun's attacks.
Let's get this done quickly.
I sighed, pulling out my sword.
"This will hurt you a lot more than it'll hurt me. But, it will still hurt me." I whispered to prepare myself.
I used my vision to get rid of the hilichurls faster. And as I thought, it did hurt me.
Now I have more burn marks.
I fell to the ground after slaying the last mob. On my hands and knees, I tried to catch my breath. I looked up from the grass I was sitting on to look at Yae and Paimon but noticed something— someone else.
A few meters behind them, I saw a familiar silhouette leaning against a tree. The only indicator of who it was was the large ass hat.
Almost as if he'd noticed me, he walked around the tree and disappeared.
"Wonderful, Y/N. You've done well."
"Well enough to beat the actual Shogun?" I stood up, brushing off my pants.
"No. Not even close." Yae said, and I fell back to the ground.
"You made Y/N do that for nothing!?" Paimon screeched.
"Not... nothing. It is good training. But, Y/N is not at the level at which they could take down the Shogun, yet."
I groaned. "Dammit... whatever."
"Mmm... Y/N, Paimon. Please meet me at the Grand Narukami Shrine." Yae said, then left.
"Now why the fuck does she want me to go that far after training for so long..." I said to Paimon.
"Paimon doesn't know! All she knows is that we better head there quick."
.....
At the shrine, we were acquainted with Kujuo Sara. We had explained to her how the Kujuo Clan had been working with the Fatui apparently.
She didn't believe us and threatened to arrest me. Fun!
She wanted evidence, and Yae said we'd have the proof she needed within three days. Then, Sara walked away.
"How are you planning to get evidence? We don't have any." I said.
"As of right now..." Yae said.
.....
She led me and Paimon to Chinju Forest — where, apparently, someone who could help us was waiting.
As we walked through the slightly dark area (though lighter than at night), I wondered, is Scaramouche here... right now?
