FRIDAY
QUEEN'S BALLERINA ACADEMY
❝ ❞
So, Peter's original plan had been to fix things with Vienna on Tuesday, the day after their janitor's closet bickering. But, that never ensued. It wasn't because Peter didn't try. It was actually the complete opposite; Vienna wasn't trying.
After Monday, the ballerina hadn't returned to school. It left both Darius and Peter worried but, Mr. Wallace ensured them that she was just sick. When, in reality, Vienna told her father that she needed a break from school. It was no secret she hadn't been the same since the explosion at Oscorp, Vienna was shaken up.
Nonetheless, Peter was still hopeful he'd see her on Friday. Even if it was their last period together, English. She never showed up to any classes that day and Peter finally had enough.
He was tired of feeling like a coward. If he could visit her each night and walk her home as Spiderman, he could fix things with her, he had to. If not for Vienna then, for himself.
So, he'd taken Darius' advice to ❝GET HER FLOWERS OR SOMETHING!!❞. Although Peter left out the something, he'd gotten her flowers. A beautiful bouquet of yellow, white and pink blossoms. Hopefully, she'd like them.
Peter was about to find out once he stepped through the Queen's Ballerina Academy's entrance and made his way to Vienna's designated studio. She always practiced there, by herself on Fridays. Peter exhaled loudly. All he had to do was walk in. The boy had the bouquet in his backpack and he planned on giving it to her after his apology.
But, he hesitated once his brown eyes caught her own. Vienna had obviously sensed his presence and she was staring him down. The ballerina looked both guilty and gorgeous as ever.
Peter wondered why she was guilty. She'd done nothing wrong, at least he felt that way.
Peter took a few steps forward into the studio and Vienna took a couple towards him. The pair stared at each other, momentarily. It appeared that both of them were unsure of what to say. Who would break the silence first?
Both Peter and Vienna did, at the same time.
❝I'm sorry.❞ They apologized in unison.
Peter looked up from his tattered shoes and stared at her. Vienna pulled her lips into a fine line.
❝You don't need to apologize, you did nothing wrong.❞ They spoke in unison, again.
Well, that was creepy, to say the very least. But, it managed to draw a chuckle from both Peter and Vienna so that was good. It broke the ice.
Peter decided to speak up. ❝I know, I've been a shitty person recently and I shouldn't be one. You mean so much to me and I'm sorry if I've made you angry. What I said in the closet was dumb, you aren't you know, like, what I'm saying is---❞
