"Wow," a monotone voice called out in the silence, "out of all quests you could've accepted, you really chose the boring one first?"
Link sighed, his gaze shifting up from the monument in front of him to find Raven perched on the edge of it, her legs crossed and her chin resting in the palm of her hand. Everything about her posture and face expressed how deep her boredom ran from watching him going around Zora's Domain for the sake of reading.
"No one said you had to come with me, you know," he said, turning his eyes back to the words written on the monument.
With a yawn, she retorted, "I didn't have anything better to do aside from sitting in Zora's Domain with that fish prince who doesn't have a filter on his flirting, but now I'm almost preferring the fish prince over this, this... blasted research."
"His name is Prince Sidon," Link shot back with another sigh, "and besides, I thought you said he seemed pleasant to talk to."
"Yeah, that was before we made the mistake of telling him I was the Sorceress of Elements."
"I literally introduced you to him as the Sorceress of Elements."
"And it instantly went downhill from there."
Link scoffed, holding back his laughter. "Prince Sidon probably thought you were pretty. Plus, with how much he looks up to the Champions and his sister, I'd be surprised if he didn't idolize you at least a little bit, too."
Raven merely rolled her eyes, uncrossing her legs to swing her bare feet back and forth. "He thinks every woman is pretty." Before Link could agree with that statement, she leaned forward and flashed him a grin that made him dread what she was going to say next. "However, you never mentioned that you think I'm pretty, too."
Link stiffened, his face deadpanning. "I didn't say that."
"So you don't find me pretty?" She held a hand to her chest, feigning offense. "Wow, Link, I'm hurt."
"Quit it, will you?! I'm trying to read."
She groaned. "Reading, still? Why are you even doing this?"
He shrugged. "Supposedly, reading all of these monuments might lead me to another piece of Zora armor."
"Might?!"
"Might," he confirmed. "You don't have to stay if you find it that boring. It's not like I'm forcing you to be here."
"Fish prince would be more entertaining than you right now," she grumbled. For the third time, Link let out a sigh, his concentration momentarily broken again.
Lifting a hand, she was about to teleport, when Link stopped her. "Wait."
"What?" Technically a question, but she spat it out like it was a statement.
His thoughts flashed back to her teasing for a second, and he smirked, his cerulean blue eyes flashing mischievously as his gaze fixated on her again. Her amber eyes narrowed, suspicious of his sudden change of mood. "What are you up to now—"
"I didn't say it... but one can't deny beauty when one sees it."
His comment made her eyes widen, and her posture immediately straightened as a crimson blush stole her cheeks' pale complexion. She was at a loss for words, seeming to be unable to do more than simply stare at him. That is, until he added, "Cat got your tongue?"
She shook her head and scowled at him. "Whatever."
She wasted no time snapping her fingers after that, causing Link to chuckle. Of course, he didn't mean anything by it, but the urge to tease her back was too tempting to resist — and by the goddesses, did it feel good to turn the tables for once.
