Jessica Timbers P.O.V.
Claire, a girl from my history class, was terribly sick and had been throwing up the entire journey. It was due to her that a three-hour ride turned into a five-hour ordeal. Nonetheless, we had arrived in Anders, and I was really excited.
After climbing out of the bus, I took in the beautiful nature around me. I took in a deep breath and sighed.
The air was fresh, and I could hear birds singing in the distance alongside the gentle chattering of the people. Huge mountains surrounded us, capped with white clouds, and the gorgeous blue sky beyond. It was, undoubtedly, an incredible sight.
Everyone appeared to be having a good time. My friends were posing and snapping pictures. Many were wandering and refreshing themselves in the gentle wind.
There were also a few ignorant ones though. Samanatha was wobbling in her high heels, clutching her boyfriend, Josh as her minions carried her bags behind her. Mr. Abdel was blowing his whistle on the heads of a couple who were heavily making out beside the bus. Clair continued to puke in a paper bag.
I felt sorry for her.
I pulled my eyes away from them and looked for a person in particular. Derrick. I felt, I had to apologize to him for what happened in the bus. Even if I hadn't said anything, he had no idea.
Derrick immediately drew every eye to him when he entered the bus. He was undeniably gorgeous, and everyone, including him, knew it. Throughout the ride, I found it hard to ignore his striking presence, especially when he sat close to our seat. Though, sadly, I haven't seen him since we all arrived.
"Looking for someone?" Alex asks, snaking his arm around me.
I shook my head.
"Nah, when do we begin anyway?" I ask, pressing my back into him.
"In about fifteen minutes or so. I'll pick up our bags. You can go fresh up if you want." He suggests, his features glowing in the clear day.
"Yeah." I nodded.
"Right. I'll wait for you near the bus. The ladies room is to the left." He says, dropping a quick peck on my temple and jogging away.
I turned on my heel, smiling, and looked for the restroom.
After doing my business, I walked out of the toilet stall and went to the sink. I washed my hands and redid my makeup. I pulled my hair into a ponytail and soothed the hairs sticking out. Content, I left the washroom.
I noticed that almost everyone was gone and began hiking. Alex waved at me when I came back and I rushed to him.
I reach for my bag, but he beats me to it and instead places a peach-colored cap on my head, similar to the one he wore. But his was black.
"Let us go!" He cheers, pushing his bag over his shoulder and hopping along.
I laugh, adjust my new cap and pick up my bag before running after him.

Alex was beside me all along and so were my friends. I clicked a few pictures of us and send it to my mom, notifying her that we have began our trip.
As time passed, the sun rose up and created a warm glow around us. It was good a day for hiking.
I was having a nice time, enjoying myself, while encouraging others to walk faster so that we could reach before others. Though our enthusiasm was gradually dissipating but we were carrying ourself nonetheless.
We walked together for another hour and the exhaustion finally began to take its place in my muscles. Yet I dragged myself hoping that we weren't far from our destination. On the other hand, Alex looked the same, actually hotter; his toned muscles were an eye candy in the sun.
