Jessica Timbers P.O.V.
I painted my last pinky finger with blue nail paint and gently blew air over it. Swaying my hand, I admired my manicured and painted nails.
I barely slept last night out of excitement and woke up pretty early this morning. After packing my bags and having a light breakfast, I pampered myself while waiting for my boyfriend to pick me up.
As part of co-curricular activities, our school organised this short trip to Anders. A small hill station about 200 kilometres from our hometown and an ideal place for hiking and camping.
I have been there a few times but that was prior to dad's promotion, about eight years ago. Some of the beautiful sights are still fresh in my mind and I looked forward to going back. The best part, I was going with my boyfriend, Alex.
Alex and I have been dating for eight months now, and everything has been a bliss. We met through our friends, and after a couple of dates, he asked me to be his girlfriend.
Ever since then, Alex and I have been inseparable.
We have gotten a lot closer over time, but not sexually. I'm not sure if it was too soon or too late, but I was very attracted to him and wanted us to progress beyond the kissing base.
So I have my fingers crossed that this trip will give us some chance to come more close.

A text popped up on my lock screen, and I read it.
From Alex: I am here.
Grinning, I sprung up on my bed and walked to my mirror. I wore a lilac crop top with dark blue jeans and white canvas sneakers. I completed the look with my mom's pearl earrings and minimal makeup.
I heard the doorbell ring downstairs, and pictured my mom's beaming face when she opened the door.
"Jessica! Alex is here!" My mom yelled from downstairs.
"Coming!"
I quickly applied a chapstick and puckered my lips. I smoothed out my clothes, and ran a hand through my curls. With a smile, I rushed downstairs.
My dad was talking to Alex. My mom right beside my dad, looking at the two males conversing on a seemingly very serious topic. I caught her holding back a smile, and I could somewhat guess the topic
All eyes fell on me as I rushed down. Alex was the tallest beside my dad, and his eyes caught mine first.
"Hey." I murmured and took a step down.
"Hi." Alex gave me a smile, showing off his dimples.
I swooned. I walked up to them and stood beside him.
"Oh! You two look so adorable. Let me take a picture, honey." Mom was quick to pull out her phone from her pants.
My mom worked her own small business from home, and it was still too early for her to be dressed in anything other than her PJs. Her brown hair was also pulled up in a loose bun.
"Mom! There is no need for that." I stopped her.
She pouted and put her phone back. Both men stood awkwardly as she began bombarding me with questions.
"Fine! But did you pack everything you need? Phone? Charger? Extra underwear?"
My eyes widened.
"Mom!" I gasped, mortified.
She simply rolled her eyes. "Did you?"
"Yes, mom, I packed everything." I sighed, cupping my red cheeks.
