"Where are we going?" I heard him ask as he followed me.

"I don't know." I answered honestly, kicking a stone off my way.

We have been walking for some time now and I have mostly calmed down. It was just exhaustion that was making home inside me.

Exhausted from my boyfriend's denial and exhausted from excessive walking.

After I left Alex, I went to Derrick not really knowing what I wanted from him. Despite the fact that I barely know him, he has done nothing wrong to me instead has helped me and has been there with me when I needed comfort.

Maybe I was growing on it and thus came back to him. And this feeling was something I was not sure how to justify.

"We have left the others. We can start the trip together if you want." I said as I turned to him.

We were walking by the side of the road that overlooked the beautiful valleys of Anders. The other side of the road was a cliff which was bordered by railings and few cars were parked there.

"Or we could sit somewhere and talk about that gloomy look on your lovely face." He suggested as he brought the lighter close to his face to light the cigarette.

I watched as the lighter crackled and lit the cigarette stuck in between his lips. His eyes flickered to mine as he took a deep inhale.

I looked away and licked my lips that were dry because of the weather.

"I am fine." I replied; tasting my strawberry flavoured lip balm.

"Sure. I see a place where we can sit." He said.

I groaned at the idea.

If we walk faster I could definitely avoid dealing with Alex. I know he will come back and act as if he doesn't know anything.

I mean he couldn't be that stupid. Right?

I internally rolled my eyes. Whatever his reasons are I am growing tired of them.

It was now Derrick who dragged me to a car parked almost at the edge of the cliff. One little push and it goes crashing down but that was not what was going into his head because he casually banged the hood of the car a few times. Small flecks of dust flew out of it. I knew what he meant and I held back the urge to roll my eyes.

"We are never seeing the broad daylight if we fell from there." I stated, folding my arms over my chest and looking at the scary height below us.

He clicked his tongue.

"We'll survive. This is nothing compared to our fall from heaven ...and hell in my case." He smirked.
He pulled away from me and blew out a cloud of smoke.

I bit the inside of my lip to hold the grin from breaking on my face.

That was ...smooth.

But cheesy.

But smooth.

"You can laugh you know. I won't mind." He grinned.

I shook my head at him, holding back a smile. He helped me sit on the hood of the car and I cautiously shifted to give him space to sit. He climbed after me and the car creaked under his weight. I almost had a mini heart attack right there. I unconsciously moved closer to him and once I assured myself that I was not dying any second, I relaxed.

"What if the owner of this car came?"

"Then we use our magic powers to burn him." He shrugged, taking another whiff of smoke.
