Chapter 16: The Berlukraften Returns

Two weeks after the construction of Maltacious had begun the air base was complete and the city was coming into full shape; the accommodations were ready for military personnel and the port was full of warships; meanwhile at the newly built pub 'The Tommy' every man and women in the armed forces were there enjoying themselves and admiring the structure of the building as drinks and food were served throughout the rest of the day, Admiral Smith and Sergeants Bolter and Grant, and Queen Boudiccas were sat down at a table in the main hall of the pub.
Boudiccas started to admire the building "This place is huge" she said; "well at least the building will fit a decent amount of people inside" said Smith; then an air raid alarm sounded, Admiral Smith legged it out of the pub only to see a stream of fighters; Boudiccas, Bolter and Grant just exited the pub, Boudiccas reacted to the display of aircraft "For Scotland's sake not them again"; Admiral Smith looked towards the air base and saw the Typhoons take off, then he ran towards the docks to board his ship while Boudiccas was doing the same and Sergeants Bolter and Grant run towards the barracks to grab weapons and ran towards one of the AA gun positions; Meanwhile the sky was littered with aircraft travelling towards each other to attack.
Meanwhile HMS Liberator and QBS Buchan Ness launched out of the docks as well as other ships following behind; Admiral Smith ordered the Anti-Aircraft guns to "Stand ready" whilst on the ground the AA Gun positions opened fire as the enemy was edging closer towards Maltacious.
Flames erupted from the guns and in the sky; but now the ships charged towards the dogfight that was happening; Smith ordered "OPEN FIRE" then all 750 AA guns of HMS Liberator erupted into the enemy aircraft, it was the same situation for CRS Buchan Ness; once the two battleships left the Typhoons got back into the action by wiping out the rest of the enemy squadron, but the squadron only consisted of 65 aircraft; Boudiccas asked Admiral Smith "Why did they send such a small force?" Smith replied "Don't be fooled the next wave will have more aircraft".
The Typhoons went back to land; the ships retreated to the docks and the Anti-Aircraft guns fell silent... for now.
