Several days pass after the day the conversation took place. Bellamy knew he shouldn't have grilled Clarke as roughly as he did, it was too much too soon. So when she gives him the cold shoulder and ignores his attempts at talking to her again or changes the subject of conversation, he expects nothing less. She's putting up her walls again, being more restraint and distant. He understands why, but that doesn't mean its any less frustrating. Its always one step forward and five steps back with her. In reality Blake knows he shouldn't care, she's a prisoner for gods sake. But she's a mystery to him, and a part of him wants to figure her out.

He was close, much closer than anyone else has been in the last two years, but there is something deeper. Something worse she's not telling him, or anyone else. She could in fact be innocent on all counts of the allegations he's being tried for, but if she was then why spend her time in prison when she could be free? Unless she was protecting someone else. It couldn't be juts the fear of the outside world and what they may do to her. The only way to know was to get her to talk more. But given her recent behavior and distance, he may not get anything from her anytime soon.

The only true way to get her to talk again was to gain her trust. Bellamy's made sure to not inform Pike of anything he's learned, or heard rather, from the inmate herself. Not until he's learned more. Something useful even. She talks but of nothing important. Even when Bellamy brings up difficult topics, she either shuts down or changes the subject entirely. But maybe he's being too easy. Maybe he needs to being up a harder subject and see how she reacts instead of trying to get her to talk about it. Bellamy's no detective, but he can read people very well. Maybe he could get a read on Clarke and try to figure her out. Given the way she's reacted so far, its more information than anyone else has learned in years. If he keeps it up, he could solve the mystery of Clarke Griffin yet. There's one subject he hasn't brought up yet, something he's sure will make her react.

"Marcus Kane is your step father right?" At the mention of the man the prisoner stills in her fidgeting with the pebbles on the ground. "Or he was until you killed him."

Go big or go home he thinks to himself. But, like all other attempts, Clarke has no reaction to this. One moment she stops moving, the next she goes back to digging into the rocks as if he hadn't spoken at all. Either she's good at masking her emotions or she doesn't care about the man at all. Its an  interesting angle he could play, but not quite yet. But he keeps on pushing this topic regardless, and yet Clarke ignores every word.

"From what I've read he was a pretty good man. Put away a lot of criminals, helped sick kids in the hospital. Hell he even volunteered at a puppy shelter!" that does it.

Clarke turns abruptly, the glare in her eyes sending a shiver up Bellamy's spine. This was the look she gave to those she's hurt. This was a look of pure rage.

"Oh please! Kane was no fucking saint! He was a manipulative piece of shit who torments little kids and sold experimental drugs and tested it on them! Including those 'innocent puppies'." Bellamy shakes his head and argues back, denying it, which only angers her more. "Right, because you were there when he sold off those kids? The drugs? If I hadn't stopped him I would have been next, and who knows how many others!"

Not only is she taking the bait, but she's running with it. Something in her has changed. She's went from sheer silence to full blown confession. Bellamy stands in place, concealing his shock to the best of his ability. That was the most she's ever said to him.

"Marcus Kane was a good man. I highly doubt he was involved in child trafficking and drug deals." She sneers and shakes her head, looking at him like he was the dumbest person in the planet.

"Then you're more of an idiot than I thought you were." Bellamy's eyes harden in a glare at her words, but keeps any retort to himself. "Guess you are just looks after all."
