Chapter Nine -

"What were you doing with Jinx?" Victoria asked. Her eyes were stone cold and it sent shivers down the pink haired girls spine. "N-nothing I just found her when you and your goons showed up." She said turning her attention back to Ekko. Vi sighed before getting up. "It's me Vi. Same person who used to take you down to the junk heap and hose you down when you got covered with grease." Vi told Ekko. She turned to Victoria.

"And the same girl who used to spent hours look at stars and going to the roof to plan our life together." That had struck something in Victoria. Their eye contact created tension. Longing, betrayal and lack of trust. "That was a long time ago." Ekko said. Their eye contact was cut. "People change." Victoria added. "Yeah, I'm getting that." Vi eyed the black haired girl.

Vi had now taken the time to look at Victoria. The black hair was cut at the middle of her neck. Her face was neutral and the way she used to carry herself was with elegance, but now it's confidence. It was attractive to Vi. Her clothes looked like they were made for her—and they probably were— she could not explain how someone could look so good in black. Her chest had several tattoos and they led to her back and stomach but were not visible because of the clothes.

"Do you work for Silco?" This snapped her eyes away from Victoria. The young queen had noticed how Vi looked at her and held in a smile.

She still likes you

and I still like her

"Fuck. You." Vi replied to Ekko.

"I-I thought you were dead. We both did. Now you show up with a Piltie and give her a tour of the Lanes?" Ekko stammered. Victoria then remembered she was mad. "You were following us? Why didn't you say something?" Vi asked. Victoria noticed she didn't deny being spotted with her ex girlfriend.

"So you just come out swinging?"

"Gee, wonder who I learned that from?"

"Ah, well you should have learned more you still punch like a little boy."

"And you still block with your face." He retorted. Vi's face fell a bit. She had remembered the man who was once a young boy.

"I remember when you wouldn't stand up to me." The cuffs made a sound before they fell. Victoria had no time to react and she was surrounded by warm arms. Ekko was brought into the hug and they just realized it was the same Vi they knew long ago.

"I missed you both." Victoria broke down and Ekko let a tear escape. "You were dead." The young queen mumbled. Anger took over her again and she pushed Vi away. "You thought I was dead?"

"You left me for years and now you show up with my ex girlfriend and you're looking for Jinx? You might as well be dead to me." Victoria spat. "Caitlyn's your ex girlfriend?" Vi asked putting the pieces together. The black haired girl rolled her eyes. "That's what you're focused on right now-"

"I'm here now." Vi cut her off. She hugged her again and this time Victoria returned the hug. "You're here now." The smaller girl repeated to herself and found comfort in the younger girls arms. "Where have you been?" She asked in a quieter tone. "Stillwater." Vi replied. Victoria froze.

All this time she was in prison and Victoria didn't know. She had searched for her everywhere but she didn't think to look in a prison. She get angry at herself for being angry at Vi. "I'm so sorry-" "no no no don't apologize you didn't know-" "but if I did we wouldn't be in this mess and-"

"It's okay. Don't apologize." Vi said grabbing her face. Victoria had done it to Vi years ago. Vi squished her face. She leaned in but the young queen was confused. Victoria dodged the kiss. "Where's Caitlyn?" She didn't turn around to know the face Vi made. Hurt but maybe confusion.

Ekko walked out of the cell and pointed down the hallway. She followed to where he pointed at and saw another cell. "Is that a real tree?" was all she heard before she left the two.

Victoria did not know how to feel about Vi. Part of her wanted to go back to her arms and be with her but the other part told her to move on. If she was to reign over Piltover she would have to take a dark path and she would have to do it alone.

"Let me go!" The familiar accent rang in her ears. She softly smiled at Caitlyn. She must have heard the young queen chuckle and she stopped moving. "It's me who you want. I brought Vi into this mess-"

"How cute."

Caitlyn paused for a second. "Victoria?" The young majesty took the bag off her head and she was met with Caitlyn's piercing gaze. "What are you doing here? Why are you here-"

"I haven't been completely honest to you." Victoria started and took off the cuffs. "I run an undercity organization. My organization is allies with the Firelights. This is their base. You speak nothing of this to the council." Caitlyn was taken back but she nodded reluctantly. "You have a good heart, Caitlyn. You always did so, what are you doing down here?"

Caitlyn got up from the ground as she rubbed her wrists. "I'll never get used to the pain of cuffs." She mumbled shooting Victoria a look. The black haired girl rolled her eyes and smiled before turning around. "Follow me. This isn't my territory but be mindful. Cass is your ally if anything goes bad." A woman appeared outside the cell as she was mentioned.

Victoria held a hand signal up in the air and Cass nodded. She left to go attend to the Elite squad.

"Where did she go?"

"She will be back but in the mean time come with me." Victoria pulled the dark blue haired girl and she came out. "Vi says I can trust you." Ekko said as the duo arrived in front of the tree. "You get a ride back to topside. That's it." He added.

"Beautiful." Caitlyn said as Victoria took off her jacket. Most would believe she said it about the tree and she did mean the tree at first but her eyes set on the young queen. The tattoos that covered her chest and back were now visible. She had a snake wrapped around her arm. The tail started at her shoulder and the head was at her wrist. The second tattoo was of two dinosaurs playing ball on her chest as well as paw prints that covered her top of her breasts.

Then she had turned and on her back was constellations— most specifically Cassiopeia and Cetus. She had another snake that was not visible but Caitlyn knew it existed under her breasts. It hugged and cupped them making somewhat of an 's'.

The staring didn't go unnoticed by Vi. Caitlyn was checking Victoria out and Victoria liked it. The black haired girl smiled at Caitlyn and walked over to her as her arms crossed over her chest.

"If your people had your way, it'd be rubble and ash." Caitlyn turned to Ekko. Victoria just shook her head knowing what was next. "It's a misunderstanding. They think you work for Silco." Caitlyn said. Victoria just put her hand on the tall girls shoulder. "Your people hunt us like animals. Silco pays them to do it."

"That's not possible. You're wrong. Victoria would never hurt you." The small girl perked up hearing her name. "You're both wrong. Silco pulls the strings. He pays to have his tracks covered up by Ekko putting the Firelights and Vanquishers as the bad guys." Victoria finally names her organization. "I can't do anything about it without the council knowing I'm turning on them. My apologies." Victoria told Ekko before pulling Caitlyn away from the staring competition.

"She believes what she's saying, she's not our enemy." Vi said speaking up. Victoria felt Caitlyn's hand brush up against hers. "Oh yeah? Then what's this?" The young queen ignored the taller girls request to hold hands as Ekko pulled out the gemstone.

"You got it. You have to let me take that back." Caitlyn said. Ekko put it away and Caitlyn sigh. "What is it?" Vi asked. "It's a gemstone It was stolen during the attack by your sister."

"You just forgot to mention that?"

The air shifted and a presence was made known. "Queen Victoria, you are needed by the council." Cass said jumping down from the tree. She landed crouched down with her left arm over her heart and her head bowing down. "What is it?"

"Augustine was found dead. They want to bring you in for questioning. Word is that they plan on pinning the three murders on you." Cass admitted. "The Black Church will not stand for this." The girl spoke.

    "Let's get moving shall we?"
