Mackenzie Pov
I felt so relieved to see him. I don't even really know why it worried me so much. It's not like he hasn't been in fights before. I stayed close to him for another minute and then we got him checked out of the hospital. We went straight home as it had been a long day.
"Hey Ethan?"
"What's up Mak?"
"uhh" I wanted him to stay the night, but for some reason I was scared. He looked at me with a concerned look.
"Are you okay?"
"uhm yeah I was just wondering if you could maybe spend the night." My voice went quiet.
"Yeah of course Mak, just let me go home real quick to grab some clothes for tomorrow."
With all that happened today, I forgot that we had school tomorrow. Ethan got in his car and drove away. I went to Matt's room to see how he was doing. His room was dark and he appeared to be sleeping, so I started to leave, when I heard his voice.
"Don't worry about me Kenz, I'm okay."
"I know I just-" I didn't know what to say. Words weren't able to explain how I felt.
"It's ok Mackenzie, you don't have to explain yourself."
I only knew him for just over two months, yet it felt like I knew him my whole life. Same with Madi and Ethan. After I left his room, I heard Ethan pull into the driveway. He came in and he had a bag filled with stuff he would need for the night and for school tomorrow.
School the next day was boring, as always. I mostly hung out with my friends from my class because I felt like I was being kind of clingy to Ethan. Ethan and I were kind of distant the next couple of days, not because we didn't like each other, but we just didn't hang out for a bit.
