This was something I personally wanted to work on, it sounded interesting. Not much was given for this, so I made it up and made it a fluff.
This'll be modern time + Gender Neutral (p.s, let me know if I type something like 'she' or 'he', I'll change it to 'they' or 'their' for the sake of it being gender neutral.)
Warning: Cringe + Short + Human Au + Modern time (mentioned before)
(Y/N) yelled out for their best friend as they walked into his house, a grin present on their face. They dashed up the stairs, their footsteps echoing across the hallways as they ran down it. Rui's door was at the very end of the hallway.
They slammed the door open and was met with his room, but no Rui. (Y/N) called out for him again, emphazing their voice as they placed their hand on the side of their mouth. Not a second later they heard shuffling from the bathroom in the room.
They figured he was using the bathroom for obvious reasons and sat down on the edge of his bed, playing with their short/short hair. It was a simple one-minute wait but to (Y/n) it was an eternity.
Sure, they could've done something else with their time like reading his various manga and American comics, even the ones in his secret stash in the closet, maybe play around with his multitude choices of hair products and body wash, maybe hide underneath his bed and say high to his pet spider.
Regardless, Rui came out of the bathroom and (Y/N) immediately perked up. They were about to call his name, but their words caught in their throat as they took the sight of him in. "(Y/N)!? What're you doing here?! I thought you were..." (Y/N) tuned him out as they gazed upon his panda onesie. He had the hood up over his head and it was zipped up all the way.
His cheeks were flushed. He had placed his hands over his eyes making him look even more cute. (Y/N) took a couple of steps towards him, raising their hands and gently taking his hands from his face to be met with his cherry face. They could just see the steam raising from his head.
(Y/N) grinned at him, petting his hoodie as Rui flinched, trying to shy away from them but (Y/N) kept him in place with their other hand. "(Y/N), stop, please. This is making me uncomfortable." (Y/N) removed their hands, muttering an apology as they took a step back for him to breath.
Rui seemed to appreciate it as he took a deep breath, but his eyes were averted to the carpet. "So, Rui. I couldn't help but notice you're wearing a panda onesie. What's that about?" (Y/N) pressed as they placed their hands on their hips/crossed their arms (A/N You decide) Rui seemed to flinch, the dark hue on his face deepening as he hid his face once more.
"I just saw it on Amazon and wanted it. That's all."
A simple explanation, yes. Not to (Y/N). They pressed their lips into a thin line, letting out a hum before asking, "Why did you want it though. It looks cute on you, don't get me wrong, but why?" Rui seemed to flinch at the word 'cute' as he seemed to recoil. "I-I don't know. I just wanted it, I thought it looked cool."
They hummed as Rui continued to cower. They walked up to him and looked him more closely. There were indeed minor but cute details to the outfit. It was quite oversized, the panda face on the onesie was adorable, ah, the ears!

"Say, Rui, do you have another one?"
"H-huh?"
"Do you have another one? It can be another kind."
"No. I only got this today. That's why I was trying it on but, it seems oversized."
"Oversized? It's just perfect for your small stature."
"...Is that a compliment or an insult?"
"Take it how you will."
This was very short, and this was indeed requested by someone. I thought to do this out of nowhere since I didn't and still don't know how to continue the Rui one, I posted like a day ago. I know how I want it to end but not sure how to get to that point. Like, I know how to start it off and end it but not sure what to do in between to get there and tie up short side stories, like a plot point but kind of minor, it won't contribute to the main plot.
